New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

I feel like he started the year so well and people were saying he should be the closer....now yikes.....

Acosta and him have just been brutal.

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

He can run fast. His hitting? Well, he can run fast. His fielding? Ummmm..........did I mention that he can run fast?

That's all. I could have told you that 10 years ago when I saw his act in Detroit.

Career splits .241/.318/.396. Not so good.

29 batters faced and he didn't get a shutout? That was a crap run in the 9th.

Too bad, too, since it broke his scoreless streak, but he did set the new Mets record.

Great sweep in Tampa to recover from the awful sweep against the Yankees. 4-5 on that road trip is fine.

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

Another CG shutout means that if RA makes it through the 7th without an unearned run in his next start, he'll grab another club record (innings without an unearned run).

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

The streak was broken, but Dickey is now 12-1 with one more start before the AS break.

The Mets went 3-1 against a very talented LA team (even if they weren't hitting), and now hosts Philly and Chicago to end the first half.

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

Did anyone even remotely think they'd be where they are at this point in the season? A pleasant surprise to say the least.

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

Me too. In the Spring I was thinking about 10-15 games under .500 by the all-star break.

This season's been a gift.

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

Also, I want to see this movie.

I saw it at the Tribecca Film Festival (for free!) It was a good movie, but I'd say wait until netflix/redbox or something. It wasn't great. Focused a lot on Wakefield, but was good enough to watch. And there's enough for the non-baseball fan. (Too much Jerry Manuel, though, I think).

Nice win tonight. Always good to beat the Fillys

Freaking amazing. It reminded me of Game Six -- down to the last strike a dozen times, clutch hitting, a little luck, some freakiness, and in the end the worst people on earth go away crying.

Love watching this team!
