New UND name to replace Fighting Sioux

Re: New UND name to replace Fighting Sioux

Most people I know refer to them as the, "F#cking C#cksu#ckers" so if they go with that it will be immediately identifiable.

Re: New UND name to replace Fighting Sioux

Many of these names intended as insults seem like great ideas to me. F#cking C#cks#ckers, for instance, would be a badge of honor. If a gopher fan called me that because I was a f#cking c#cks#cker fan, I'd want to buy him a beer.

Slap for sure.

You've always been the exception to the rule. Don't be mad.

Continuing without a name would be fine with me. But having one that relates somehow to the NoDak landscape and heritage (as Sioux did) would be nice. I'm fine with something like Lightning or Thunder, which are probably too boring for most but which evoke prairie images.

That is, if F#cking C#cks#ckers gets shot down. F#cking C#cks#ckers is a good Joe Pesci kind of name, and maybe we could convince him to let UND use his pic as the logo. That would be cool.

From what I've seen here in Denver, let's call them the Fighting Fat Chicks. At least then you'll have thousands of mascots at every game.

:D

He he.
Funny, if insensitive. Reminds me of the Iowa joke about football cheerleaders forcing a stop to the game due to overgrazing on the field.

The "One Tree Wonderland"

I've been searchin', so long ... to find a .... tree? (ok think Chicago song). Bet the UND campus has more trees than UM campus. Happy, have you been outside lately ...

I live in the forest in SE Minnesota. I have a foot thick layer of oak leaves to clean up each fall. I no longer have to mow my yard, the trees block out most of the sunlight. If it wasn't so warm today, I would have gone and done some tree pruning. I planted a lot of butternut and hickory this past fall. I probably have more American Chestnuts on my land than the whole state of ND. Comparing North Dakota trees to Minnesota is very foolish on your part. 3 box elders do not count as a forest, no matter what you say.

Rutting around the Root?

Rutting around the Root?

a little bit to the North, but that is all nice country down there. There is a little slice of area coming up the Mississippi valley that is sheltered enough to allow some very nice hardwood forests.

Haven't spent too much time south of La Crescent/Hokah on the Minn side but a fair amount on the WI side. It is beautiful country.
