Rented Fantastic Mr. Fox, really liked it. Stop-motion was gorgeous in B-R.

Next stop, The Princess and the Frog.

I don't get the Dana Carvey thing. Am I missing an inside joke?

F*: A Documentary

Obviously it was gonna lean towards "what's the big deal," but it did provide a nice history/etc of the word, how it's evolved, etc. And did provide a few decent arguments on why we shouldn't say the word in the first place.

Pat Boone is comedy gold, I must say, as is Billy Connelly. And even Bill Maher (!!!!) has some decent points in it.

At times, it seems a little more political than it should be, although later on in the movie they show why some politics are involved, so the ends justified the means.

Either way, good doc, I'd watch it again for sure.

Here's the trailer (NSFW, duh; embed has the word, so here's the link):

most of that movie is on youtube.

Very interesting movie, and does a pretty good job articulating both sides of the indecency/censorship debate.

I definately agree that Billy Connolly and Pat Boone were highlights of the film.

That is the one added benefit of Netflix: the docs. I love it. There are so many, and most of them appear to be interesting. I have a coffee industry one coming up later, and a couple on the porn industry/lifestyle (Inside Deep Throat and American Swing).

And for the record, trying to explain why "F*" isn't really an obscenity per the Bible, to a Bible thumper, is indeed interesting.;)

Not much to get; I just thought Sam Rockwell looked like Dana Carvey.

Iron Man 2 - didn't dislike it nor Rockwell's performance. Sue me.

I liked it too. Didn't love it but I liked it.

I'm with you two. I enjoyed it, and would watch it in the theater again, and would like to own it on DVD.

Schindler's List.

Everytime I see it, I have the same reaction.

Sweet merciful crap, what an amazing film. It is heartbreaking, astonishing, soul-crushing and yet somehow still finds a way to fill you with the strangest, pathos-soaked joy you've ever felt.

I love almost all of those movies :)

Billy Zabka is my hero!

BTW I thought I saw him in Hot Tub Time Machine...and Wikipedia confirms it!

No Bradley Whitford? Sequels get no respect.

I've not seen Avatar. I do have it on BluRay to watch. Probably Wednesday? I haven't seen a movie in a LONG time.

Re: New/Rented movies: Here comes the movie to change all movies

I watched Being John Malkovich last night, very odd movie, I enjoyed and recommend it, I probably will not watch it again though.

Inside Man

Great movie. Lots of thinking involved in the plot, solid twists and such, and sorta keeps the audience guessing until the end. Definitely worth seeing a couple times, to try and catch all the minute details of the story, and to try and catch some foreshadowing.

Wow really? I found the movie boring and the ending stupid. A lot of talent wasted in that flick.

For heist movies, I like the calculated plan sort of approach. The Dark Knight had that in the opening scene, Heat obviously was awesome, etc etc.

I went into it thinking I'd probably enjoy it, but was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. The very end ending part was kinda corny (the last 30 seconds of the movie, you know what I'm talking about), I can your point in that, but I liked the general ending overall.

Punch Drunk Love

Did I like it? Yes. No. I dunno. Maybe. Kinda. Sorta. Yeah, it's that type of movie. Sandler did a great job in it, that's for sure. Other than that? I can't really say anything about it. That's how up in the air I am about the movie.
