Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

Yeah he forget to mention sequels, and sequels of sequels, and other unoriginal ideas. I, personally, really need to see what will happen in Shrek 4 since the first three left so many storylines hanging.

I did leave out sequels, I thought they were impled. Hey I am excited for Pirates 4...not cause I liked any of the other Pirates movies because I didn't but it will be fun to see everyone get excited again only to have them vomit over how bad the movie truly was :D

and chick flicks made to exactly the same formula as every year's (really they should count as remakes plus sequels. "Shequels")

Burn After Reading:

First third of movie: meh. Pretty boring. I realize it was all setup and such, but since I had heard some interesting things about the movie (both good and bad) I stuck with it.

Second third: better, got a little interesting.

Last third: the last five minutes really sealed the deal. I was almost in tears I was laughing so hard. And probably since it was a Coen Bros movie, my only thought at the time was "that really tied the room (movie) together."

Clooney was magnificent, and J.K. Simmons was superb in his small role. Mcdormand was so *ing annoying (even since her character was supposed to sorta be that way) that it actually took away from the movie.

Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

Brad Pitt was my favorite part. It's too bad him and Clooney only had the one scene together.

He was amusing, more often when he tried to sound smart (like the first phone call to Cox).

I guess I haven't seen too many movies (if any, I don't recall any off the top of my head, I'm not sure if you would count "No Country For Old Men" which of course is another Coen's movie) where such a short "payoff scene" (the last 5 minutes in this case) sold the movie.

It was boomboomboom organized chaos, then boom "Dam that was hilarious!"

I thought you were joking about this, but you weren't. IMDB says in 2011 it'll be upon us.

I watched the new Rob Zombie movie, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto. Based on his comic books apparently.

Animated adventure I guess you would call it. 'Cept just about every scene has cartoon boobs in it. So its not for children clearly.

Animated =/= kid oriented.

Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

Blood Diamond: very solid movie the whole way through. It did border on preachy at times, but not unexpected, nor unbearable. Also, the secondary love story was not over the top (I was SO glad they didn't put in the "night of romance" between DiCaprio/Connelly, as I was fully expecting that, given the lead-up scene).

Djimon Hansou was brilliant in his role, and the relationship between him and DiCaprio was really good. It wasn't all Hollywood buddy-buddy and glossed over. Was happy (I guess that's the right word) that they even threw in a "kaffir" in the dialogue, given the backstory of DiCaprio/African race relations, as I think many movies would shy away from that. It added to the bond/non-bond of the two main characters.

I definitely recommend it.
