Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

What took you so long?!? :p

I don't go to the theater unless it's gonna be a movie I can't avoid hearing details about, or unless it's a movie I am going ga-ga for. And renting? Pfffft. So I wait until it comes on cable, or I borrow it (the latter in this case). :o

"City of Angels" was a pretty 'dark' film for him, but "Knowing" took the cake.

Did you see him in Ghostrider? It wasn't too bad from a schlock perspective, and Eva Mendes is hotter than hell. :D

Re: new/rented movies: DEVASTATOR!!!!!

I bought the Gettysburg/Gods and Generals two pack for like a buck on Amazon and watched Gettysburg (which I still love) and and almost done with Gods and Generals. Gods and Generals is ok not half the movie Gettysburg is though it was cool that they got back most of the cast.

Two things:

1) I find it annoying that ONCE AGAIN the story leaves out the First Minnesota which was just as important as the 20th Maine (im gonna teach history I like stuff like that)

2) Stephen Lang is one helluva an actor. I mean he was great as Pickett in Gettysburg but is awesome as Stonewall Jackson in Gods and Generals! That is quite a difference in characters.

Bauhaus: Gotham

Great song selection, the concert footage was great (unfortunately not Blu-Ray) but the sound quality sadly left much to be desired.

I saw Public Enemies and like it a lot. I disagree with those that said the portrayal of J. Edgar Hoover was over the top, I think they did a great job of showing just how nuts Dillenger made him.

My only gripe was it was a bit too long...they could have cut a lot of the longer scenes down and not lost anything.

Pretty much what I thought after seeing it, I would have liked to have seen more of the average citizens life, and I thought the romance was a bit forced.

You expect a Michael Mann film to be neat, tidy and short? Ha!

It wasn't that he was over the top. He was just grating. The acting was horrible overall. I don't know how you'd categorize it, other than that.

I disagree completely...the accent was obnoxious but then again so was Hoover's. :)

Finally saw The Hangover. Hilarious. I don't know the last time I went to a theater for something that funny (though I rarely see comedies at the theater). :D
