I don't know if it's the lighting or what, but everyone looks way older and ragged than what they probably are. Amy Adams and Oprah most noticeable so far.

Scarlett Johansson didn't look very good either, and that has to be tough to accomplish. She had a strung out on coke look to her, must be spending too much time at case de Sheen.

No real surprise that Inception is dominating the technical categories.

The only notable loss that I've noticed is Christopher Nolan not winning for his screenplay. Granted, I haven't yet seen The King's Speech, so I can't say whether or not I think that's an upset or robbery. Plus, let's be honest, Nolan will end up being one of those filmmakers who somehow finds a way not to win any Oscars.

Probably, and that's a shame. I haven't seen The King's Speech either, but Hollywood loves good period pieces.

Did I just hear "my boyfriend Ben"?

Not that I care, but isn't that rather rare for a telecast like this?

Well... it IS Hollywood... This is nothing compared to some of thing that were mentioned the year that Milk won a few Oscars.

I thought I heard a reference to "all of our wives" during one of Inception's acceptance speeches, when one of the winners was a woman.

True on the "Milk" year.
This just kinda stuck out, as the movie (and AFAIK the winner) didn't have homosexuality as a focal point, like "Milk" obviously did.

Have you ever watched an awards show before? ;)

So just like every year, my favorite film lost. I thought Winter's Bone was the best film of 2010. Oh well. John Hawkes delivered an amazing performance, but it was actually an upset that he even got nominated.

I know about all the urban myths, etc. Usually you don't see that sort of thing on major awards shows is all (read: network, FCC watched, conservatively monitored).

And it's become apparent that I need to see Winter's Bone. I might have to bump that on my queue.
