New Poll Predictions for 2/1

Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/1

Funny how Elmira only gets some love after they tie Plattsburgh. Earlier in the season when Elmira was used as a measuring stick for Oswego the jury was still out;)

Seriously grow a brain and read more....Elmira was questionable because they were missing a huge chunck of their team to injuries at the begining of the season.

This coming from the guy who cannot even bring himself to say the 20-1 Lakers are better than the Plattsburgh team they have beaten twice and has also only managed victories in 5 of their last 10 games. Seriously, grow a set and man up and admit you were wrong about Elmira from the start. They have been solid all year, but only after a tie with your mighty Cardinals are you able to jump on their bandwagon.

Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/1

Elmira has a win and two losses vs Oswego...Plattsburgh has two losses vs Oswego...Elmira tied Plattsburgh.

Didn't mean to start a lunchroom fight among friends, but the results this season don't lie...

IMHO, leaving the Soaring Eagles out of the conversation is wrong....

Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/1

MY two cents..

1A. Oswego
1B. Norwich
2A. Elmira
2B. Plattsburgh

..in the East.

Oswego and Norwich slightly above Elmira and Platty...and I do mean slightly. Tuttle shows up on any given night and Elmira can easily beat any team in the country. Same goes for Klinger. Oswego stays out of the penalty box and they are tough. If Platty can learn to put the puck in the back of the net, they can beat anyone.

Even though I know it can't happen, this would be an excellent Frozzen Four!

Best post I've seen.

I agree that would be a dream Final Four that would probably come very close to selling out the Herb Brooks Arena.

Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/1

I think there are a few teams outside the east that would have an arguement about it being a 'dream' frozen four

I completely agree.

That's why it was a "dream" Frozen Four as far as attendance wise in my mind.

SNC, CSS, Adrian, Hamline, GAC are all right there. Fully expect one or two to be in Placid.

In the back of my head, I've been wondering if we will see an Oswego-Plattsburgh NC final like in 1987.

Obviously, it's possible depending on how they set the brackets up, but will it really happen?

Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/1

Oswego has better finishers if that helps. So when Plattsburgh beats Oswego in the SUNYAC title game with their best forward, top 1 or 2 defensemen back and not Leis I guess we will say Plattys better too right?

You can take the SUNYAC title...we'll take the National title:cool:

Actually, they are 6-2-2 in their last ten games which includes games @Norwich, @Elmira, @Williams, and @Oswego (yes, they are 0-2-2 in those games). Anyone else run that gauntlet since January 1st?

And it doesn't even include tonights's game @ Middlebury....

Looking at the KRACH page, Plattsburgh Ranks #1 in SOS right now. And we all know how much the committee likes their SOS...

Also, you can see how heavily SOS is weighted, because the top 4 (Oswego, Norwich, Elmira, and Plattsburgh) are also the top 4 in SOS.

My bad, it is 4 wins in their last 8, and 6 wins in their last 12. I fully acknowledge they have had a brutal schedule, which is why they are still ranked so high, and deservingly so.

again......... I'd have to postpone my surgery for that game as well, perhaps I could get the monkey off my back from the loss in 87.......still with me...still also have the scar from a 2 hander I received...... ugh

Re: New Poll Predictions for 2/1

If you're talking strictly attendance, it'd be tough to top Plattsburgh-Middlebury-Norwich-X.

That's known as the Primelink Great Northern Shootout :D

Instead of stealing the trademarked Frozen Four, we could call it the Primelink II

Don't disagree with you however the goal is to get to the tournament. I think playing a tough away schedule actually is an advantage in the tournament.

A little historical perspective would be in order as the lessons recently learned appear already forgotten. I mean who would have thunk Neumann at this time last year. Sure they were a quality team but I think they had 9 losses and 2 ties. Elmira beat them I think 3 times and tied them once and yet they managed to outplay Elmira and a lot of other good teams down the stretch. Having watched them play I felt they earned their national championship but would not have predicted it. I kept saying to myself "who are these guys" Probably would not have predicted Gustavus either but they also finished strong.

Got to love college hockey really anything can happen
