New Poll Predictions for 11/30

15.Curry

Will Stout actually drop out? probably not. But needless to say it would be acceptable after the butt kicking they got this weekend.

Curry and Salem State should both be ranked but I didnt have room to get them both in because Bowdoin and Hamline most likely wont drop out since they didnt lose or tie.

Also, should Scholastica be higher? will the voters notice they were the team that actually "won" the tournament this weekend and beat the team that beat previous #1 SNC?

You could make a case for Scholastica being higher than #7 for sure.

How did you figure Midd moves up a notch with a 1-1 week-end?

Re: New Poll Predictions for 11/30

My gut was the Norwich cracks the top five but your 6th might be about right.

Re: New Poll Predictions for 11/30

Manhattanville should be at the bottom or out after losing both games to unranked teams

I was going to ask the same question, but then I tried to figure out who would be ahead of them. Do you keep Manhattanville ahead of Midd despite their abysmal weekend? Do you leapfrog Midd with River Falls despite not playing this week, and still coming off a 2-loss weekend themselves? And can you justify moving any of those that are lower than River Falls ahead of River Falls?

I think Middlebury gets a lucky break and moves up despite a loss on the weekend. It was to Plattsburgh, who will likely be either #1 or #2 (more likely #2) this week, so that also has to be taken into consideration.

On another note, I think Williams will get much more love this week. By no means do I think they will be ranked, but their 5-1 thrashing of Manhattanville has to be worth something!

Is #4 the new #5, which used to be the new #8?

Re: New Poll Predictions for 11/30

I would think Norwich is a lock for the top 5.

How I'd vote:
1- Norwich
2-Plattsburgh
3-SNC
4-Adrian
5-Oswego

(yes, I know Oswego beat Plattsburgh...)

i do not see norwich ahead of plattsburgh. overall on the weekend both teams went 1-0-1 and played a even game for the most part. not doubt though norwich should be in the top 5.

my guess is

1) oswego
2) plattsburgh
3) norwich
4) adrian
5) st. norbert

Re: New Poll Predictions for 11/30

I feel that the pollsters usually aren't as kind to Oswego as we are on the boards. So these are predictions, not what I think it should be.

1. Plattsburgh
2. Oswego
3. Norwich
4. St. Norbert
5. Adrian
6. Elmira
7. St. Scholastica
8. Middlebury
9. Superior
10.Amherst
11. Manhattanville
12. River Falls
13. Curry
14. Hamline
15. Stout

Trinity falls out with the loss to Weslyan. Bowdoin loses points to Curry after Curry beat Tufts and M-ville while Bowdoin only beat Salve.

Exactly why I have them moving up 1. Thank you!:)

I will not be surprised if Norwich ends up anywhere between third and sixth. It's always tough to gauge how the pollsters will react to certain teams winning and losing.

Manhattanville will not even come close to falling out of the top 15. I'll honestly be shocked if they still aren't in the top 10. The ECAC West has gotten a lot of respect from the pollsters in the last few years and it has been earned due to the conference's dominating OOC. This year, yes they are crumbling but Manhattanville will still ride this to a top 10 ranking.

The teams I'm most interested to see where they end up are Stout, Curry, Norwich, Adrian, St. Scholastica and then who is #1. I honestly think it has to be Oswego because of their head to head win but I've been wrong before and I'll certainly be wrong again.

Just throwing this out there...it's still a VERY long ways off and a lot can still happen by then but Plattsburgh/Elmira and Oswego/Adrian weekend has the potential to the be the top four teams in the country when they meet Jan 8th and 9th.

Re: New Poll Predictions for 11/30

Wow! Despite all the great, well-thought-out predictions, I gotta say, no one saw a tie at the top between the Cards and Lakers coming!

Re: New Poll Predictions for 11/30

How logically, after the Primelink finals can you fit that many teams between Norwich and Plattsburgh? You can put one or the other ahead by one slot, but to have that many teams between them doesn't make sense. If ever two teams showed up as evenly matched that was what happened there.

Once again I totally agree with you.
Platty should be tied with Norwich.......in 5th.
These guys never get it right. ;) :D

Re: New Poll Predictions for 11/30

IMO, based on results till now, Norwich should be around 7th or 8th,w ith
Plattsburgh about right.

For those who think Plattsburgh and Norwich should be tied, especially in fifth, then why shouldn't Salem be second based on their results.

Re: New Poll Predictions for 11/30

Well, Plattsburgh's second-half schedule is starting to look just as imposing in reality as it does on paper. Oswego, Norwich, Elmira, and Midd...all on the road...
