Again, you realize that absolutely none of this has anything to do with my point? Never once have I touted Plymouth State as an elite team and made any claims to their worthiness of anything beyond having one loss through sixteen games and deserving a hard look for the top 15. They dont get a single vote which shows how hard it is for a team like Plymouth to gain any credit which is different than some teams who often get the same by pure assumption. I have not seen Plymouth State play this year and I bet you haven't either. Yet I am keeping an open mind and you have insulted a third of the teams in d3.

I guess we really don't know for certain what would happen if Plymouth played Oswego, Plattsburgh, Norwich etc. but I think those of us who have been around a while could venture a pretty good guess. The stats show that Astedt is a pretty good goalie so he could be an x-factor but I am sure Platty fans remember another Plymouth State Swede that looked like the real deal and wasn't.

One loss and five ties against mediocre competition, except for maybe Salem State, will not get you much love in the poles because you really don't deserve it. The only way a team with no history of winning is going to get into the polls is by beating teams that are consistent winners, with top players and good coaches. Salem got some votes last year when they shutout St. Norbert and Curry and Wentworth were getting votes when they played and sometimes beat top teams. Go where the competition is and the credit will follow, provided you do some winning along the way.

Its not hard, you have to play someone to get credit. Everyone in the top 15 has played a difficult team. Win or lost they've at least played someone. Plymouth State has not...their biggest opponent is maybe Salem State at this point and Wentworth, two teams who would be hard pressed to even crack the top half of any major conference. Yes teams like Oswego, Norwich, Middlebury, St.Norbert will always get the the extra look because they have always been a top team for years. Like I said before, you earn credit you dont expect it. Plymouth State has done nothing to earn it.....

Where would you like to see a team like Plymouth State in the polls?

Russel can you please give Plymouth State a vote next week so we can put all this to rest.....:rolleyes:

And yes, thanks to video I have seen Plymouth State and a few other MASCAC teams play, and they are not anywheres near a top 15 team.

Why do people take some teams and try to find every reason to say they are no good, but then the same people look at other teams and try to find every reason to say they have to be good?

We all are supposed to trust the judgement of someone who refers to a third of the country as high school, nobodies and "junior B midget" teams? It's good to see objectivity is alive and well in the drive through lane

When you automatically discount so many teams with so little thought it proves what I'm getting at. Is that Brockport team your Cardinals limped by a "junior B midget" team too or are they junior A?

Correct but at least Plattsburgh has some other teams and more importantly wins, to back it up....unlike Plymouth State....

But Brockport put up 17 goals in two games against WNEC and have only 38 goals in the rest of their games combined. I don't think I would go as far as Remy and say most of the teams are Junior B level but there are a lot of teams out there that are not real good.

It's not a matter of automatically or arbitrarily discounting teams it's a matter of talent, coaching and school commitment separating D3 into a group of Elite's, a group of also rans and a group of doormats. Teams like Plymouth have a chance to move into the top group if they can convince a lot more top flight talent to come to their school. Plymouth has a new rink and they will be fighting for an auto-bid next year, along with a good record this year so they have a good chance to start earning some respect in the next few years.

The upper crust looked down their noses at Manhattanville, Utica, Neumann, and Castleton a few years ago but look at them now, other teams have a chance to get there as well if they are willing to put in the work. And it goes the other way to, Point was a powerhouse for years but they are not a team that strikes fear into most of the elite teams these days.

Hahaha. It's like what you said about Syracuse basketball playing the first 18 regular season games in only two states.

Next year we'll be at Middlebury for the Primelink, Norwich, Middlebury again, Williams, etc. I think Coach said we have 14 home games next year.

Yes I was being a tad extreme, but they are NOT Top 15 or maybe even Top 25 calibar teams.....

Notice that there are quite a few Norwich fans who are not afraid to "get real" about their team's performance, while at the same time supporting them and believing that they have what it takes to be winners. That my fellow posters, is class:))

FWIW, I can't recall the last time the USCHO poll was so incredibly far off of what the PWR number suggest the rankings should be. The poll is not just off, its off the map.

I know you weren't being serious, it appears as if ole NorthernBlight wasn't aware of that.

I did watch Playmouth twice online and they looked ok but like you said certainly not a top 15 team.
