New England Prep 2009-2010

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

Pomfret gains nothing in the power poll by winning today. Also, going into today's games there are two other teams that are below .500 by one game, Loomis and St. Pauls. Loomis is playing Deerfield, St. Pauls is playing Lawrence. If any one of the three sub .500 teams win, it could changes the rankings rather dramatically.

Anyone know the results of the following games:

Lawrence

Loomis

Pomfret

I think these are the three games that materially affect standings, but I haven't seen anything posted yet. Slug, you say Pomfret gains nothing in the power poll, but I see a scenario where they could still earn the 8th seed pending other games. All three results seem to matter.

Loomis 2 -1 over Deerfield.

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

Here's what I have unofficially assuming Hotchkiss and Lawrence each won their final game:

1. Choate (1/1/1)
2. Brewster (2/2/3)
3. Nobles (3/3/2)
4. Westminster (4/4/5)
5. Berkshire (6/7/4)
5. Williston (6/5/6)
7. Lawrence (5/6/10)
8. Tabor (8/9/9)
8. Pomfret (10/8/8)
8. Hotchkiss (9/10/7)

Three polls:
1. D1 and D2 record only
2. D1 record only
3. D1 record against teams with a record of .500 or better (there are currently only 10), multiplied by the number of D1 teams played (not number of D1 games)[/QUOTE]

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

The last score for the seedings to be calculated.
Lawrence 7 - St. Paul's 2

How do things look now?

I agree with these standings.
Good luck at that meeting this morning to decide who plays Choate.

I was wondering what constitutes tie breakers so I found the above web site, supposedly the official web site for NEPSAC. It's not up to date for records, but it does have divisions.

According to them, NMH is not a D1 school, and Dana Hall is. Dana Hall plays in the Holt South League, and plays mostly JV teams. They play against Pingree and Portsmouth Abbey in their league, both D2 schools. So total all season the have 4 D2 games.

The bigger factor is that if NMH games do no count as either D1 or D2 games, it changes the rankings quite a bit.

1. Choate
2. Nobles
3. Brewster
4. Williston
4. Westy
6. Berkshire
7. Lawrence
8. Tabor
9. Pomfret
10. Hotchkiss

head to head Williston beat Westy.

I guess we'll find out in2 hours

Re: New England Prep 2009-2010

DII
I'll go no upsets in the first rounds and it will be an all east affair in the semi's.
Govs over NYA by a touchdown.
Rivers over Gunnery by 2-4 goals
Southfield over Milbrook by 2-4 goals
Brooks over Cantebury by a goal(great 2-3 f-check does Cantebury in)

Southfield will beat rivers(They will outshoot them by a lot by win only by a goal or two)
Govs over Brooks(too much talent, too much Carpenter) If you leave her alone for a moment, she scores. She is selfless as well. She finds the open player and the RIGHT Pass always. Great in dzone as well. I'll put her on the Olympic team for 2014.

Governor's wins again. talent, grit, mental toughness and the best DII line in the country.

3 peat for Governor's.

Maybe more than the best DII line the country maybe the best line in prep hockey period. Would be interesting if we had the boys playoff system to see how they might do in an elite 8 type tournament

Agree with everything else you said but I do think Canterbury could beat Brooks, but you even alluded that you thought it will be tight. So I guess we don't disagree at all...

It will be very interesting to see how Rivers bounces back from a pair of tough weekend (losses to Southfield and Tilton), especially if they get a rematch with Southfield. Nice to see that Rivers loss on Satuday didn't cost them a 2 seed. Very tough to beat a good team twice in a week which is what Southfield would pretty much have to do (8 days).

You're forgetting a pretty good goalie too.
