Bummer, bronchitis is a pain in the ***, but yeah this time I suppose it's the lesser of two evils.
Yeah, definitely the lesser of the two. I had a few wide eyed responses when I said I work a job that involves contact with people traveling to/from China, Japan, and South Korea.

He thinks this is the chicken pox. It's not.

Re: nCoV 2019-2020 Outbreak

Thought it was gonna be me for a bit since I’ve been sick for the last 4-5 days with the symptoms. Just getting back from the hospital and never been happier to have been diagnosed with bronchitis.
My wife got back from vacation Monday night, she was in So. Cal, Las vegas, and Tampa. Got sore throat at work yesterday. Thinks she has cold, seems she always get sick after flying. But it is a cold? Should I go to work today? She called in already and will call Doctor when they open but its kind of scary. 2 months ago I wouldn't think twice.

I really don’t understand the TP thing

If you're gonna be self quarantining for a while, you'll need it. Especially once this goes widespread and the fearful are quarantining not to spread it, but to avoid catching it.

All those doomsday preppers are walking around with huge stiffies right about now.

I am not as frightened of the virus as I am of the confirmed stupidity of a large portion of the population

That is how I lived before coronavirus. The thing that has changed is the GOP and all portions of the government they control are now even stupider than the population.

and I am reading the sequel to the andromeda strain.

Had no idea there was one. The original is so perfect I worry it will ruin it. I'm glad Goldman died before trying to write Buttercup's Baby.

I came down with a cold three days after being exposed to people who had been in China. My temp never got above 97 this week so I fully assume I have a cold.

I've had a cold all week. But it's had severe cough and a fever the last two nights. I haven't been in contact with too many people. My co-workers and family is pretty much it. No idea where I got it. With the fever I suppose I could have the flu as well. Should have gotten a shot this year. I really need to make that a habit.

Re: nCoV 2019-2020 Outbreak

My employer's emergency plan for cov-19 includes the following advice for self-quarantined:

You may use your PTO.

Translation: go f-ck yourself.

It never ceases to amaze me how shortsighted and stupid business people are.

That's American Business. Always has been.

I fully expect my company to do the same.

I'm not burning my PTO so I guess I'll just be spreading my germs to my office. I will also be attending every event at Corporate that is scheduled, as well as scheduling my skip levels and requesting close mentoring from the highest placed executive I qualify for.

I feel that strongly about synergies.

Five CASES of TP? Self-quarantine will last two weeks. Maybe four. We don’t go through that much TP in a year.

I believe I have a "cover all" on my corporate bingo card with this post.

I remember someone around here saying PTO is the stupidest ****ing thing ever. I can’t quite remember who that was.
