NCAA Selection Show

Re: NCAA Selection Show

Final bracketology:

https://www.bcinterruption.com/bost...ton-college-eagles-wisconsin-colgate-clarkson

I would be pretty certain it's this:

Mercyhurst @ (1) Clarkson
Minnesota @ (2) Wisconsin
Northeastern @ (3) Colgate
Ohio State @ (4) Boston College

But given what they did two years ago, we could end up with:

Mercyhurst @ (1) Clarkson
Minnesota @ (2) Wisconsin
Ohio State @ (3) Colgate
Northeastern @ (4) Boston College

Your guess is as good as mine.

Too limit travel the best (except for OSU who has to fly wherever they go), they could do:

Mercyhurst @ (1) Colgate
Minnesota @ (2) Wisconsin
Ohio State @ (3) Clarkson
Northeastern @ (4) Boston College

Well, they wouldn't move Colgate up to the 1 seed. The top 4 are pretty much the top 4, they don't usually mess with that. If they did anything they'd switch around the bottom teams and keep Clarkson as the 1, but honestly the cost difference to doing that is so marginal I can't see them doing it. The benefit to sending NU to BC is they don't have to pay for hotel rooms.

Right, my mistake, I meant :

Ohio @ (1) Clarkson
Minnesota @ (2) Wisconsin
Mercy @ (3) Colgate
Northeastern @ (4) Boston College

Re: NCAA Selection Show

Or, the NCAA could eliminate all flights by taking St Anselm and bumping Ohio State out of the tournament.

Nice graphic for the women's hockey selection show -- a Denver goalie. :(

Last paragraph. Does St. A have a chance???

Re: NCAA Selection Show

The 'show' is pre-recorded. You can fast=forward

Mercyhurst @ (1) Clarkson
Minnesota @ (2) Wisconsin
Northeastern @ (3) Colgate
Ohio State @ (4) Boston College

Re: NCAA Selection Show

Perhaps some day, we'll have a real national tournament, where Minnesota would go to Colgate, and Northeastern would travel to Madison. I doubt I'll see that again in my lifetime. But we're women's hockey fans, so we'll take what we're given and be content with it. Nah... :D

Re: NCAA Selection Show

...and Northeastern would travel to Madison.

It occurred to me this morning that no matter what happened this afternoon, next Saturday, Wisconsin will be playing a team that beat them the last time they saw them. Then after the game, I thought about who they'd have been getting if the NCAA surprised use with full-out 'bracket integrity'. Northeastern... another team that beat them the last time they saw them! :-O

You're right; hotels in Boston are really pricey. And don't forget the Mass Turnpike -- they charge cash to use the roads. I would also imagine that the mints they put on the pillows are stunningly more expensive in Beantown. No savings is too marginal... Regrettably, Boston is no longer allowed to host NCAA Games.

Our hotels are reasonably priced. No tollbooths on the Columbus Freeways. We'll cover the cost of the mints. It's short notice, but we can handle it. We'll be glad to host Saturday's game. ;)

OK, Back To Reality:

1. I am grateful that the Buckeyes get to play an actual NCAA Game in the first round of the tournament.

2. I'm also genuinely pleased that both BC & NE get to play National Games in the first round as well, rather than a "Play-In Game" against each other.

3. I just wish that all 8 teams could be treated equally well.

4. It's truly an honor to play BC in the 1st Round of the NCAA Tournament. Congratulations to the Buckeye players and coaches. Make the most of your opportunity! Here's to hoping for a great game.
