If I cry enough, maybe we will stop with all of this silliness.

Given all of the hate for Michigan, aren't some of you all tired of seeing them in outside games?

There's always hope for a meteor strike.

They should realize 50% of the hate would dissipate if they burned the hideous sweaters and learned a second fucking song.

Freeing themselves from that maddening St. Louis Cardinals Smug Energy would get rid of the rest and improve their lives, but I'm not waiting around for that.

I know this is hard for you having to play an OOC game away from Yost, and worse It will make a rival school look good. Maybe if you win the natty you won't be sending such little bro energy.
The game should be at Lawson. I would complain regardless of who we would play outside.

In Michigan's defense, we do know 2 songs: "The Victors" and "Let's Go Blue"

Hopefully those attending the Frozen Four will find out that the current hockey band director has added to the repertoire and relies less heavily on the 2 songs ya'll are sick of hearing.

The times, they are a' changin'...

Initial thoughts are that this is a good thing, but there will be repercussions and unforseen consequences. Seeing Football players push for 6-7 years is absurd. And with NIL, it is only a matter of time before someone who isn't quite NFL material tries to make their career being a "pro" NCAA player.

Obvious ramifications for hockey are noted, as 21 year old "freshman" are the norm across the board... Is this the thing that finally pushes the Power-4 to go off and do their own thing?

So the NCAA is setting themselves up for even more lawsuits they will ultimately lose.

Quoting this because a friend and I had an exchange about it after Buccigross eluded to this during the regional weekend, and, maybe I just don't see the benefits other do.

If the power schools break away from the NCAA in hockey, what upside down they get? The NCAA recently allowed CHL transfers into the schools penalty free.

All this would do is turn the ex-NCAA hockey programs into a sanctioned minor-pro league like the ECHL, or even a direct feeder for the ECHL/AHL. And that doesn't seem financially smart for these schools who already rely on Football revenue to financially support the rest of the sports.

I was thinking more for the revenue generators of Football and Basketball. I don't see hockey going to a system you describe. Schools are going to want to continue to make money hand over fist with the two big sports. Bring all that cash in-house while spreading out the losses of the remainder of the athletic department elsewhere.

All that is fine and dandy, and most everyone agrees there needs to be some reigns put on this Wild West situation, but I don't see age limits being accepted by courts. The pro leagues tried it, and it was shot down by the courts, which is what essentially created the one and done situation in basketball.

Not sure how a fixed age range would help. I understand laying down a very tight control over years of eligibility, but matching it with age doesn't seem to help.

Bear in mind, I'm not a big BYU fan, but they would be hurt by this if any player decides to go on a mission during college. They would basically not be allowed to go and come back to play- since they would age out before eligibility would. So for anyone crying over attack on Christianity- that would be pretty easy for schools that send people on missions.

And for hockey, it would be really bad. Even the big schools regularly get 21 year old freshmen.

Sure, some rules need to help the current situation, but this does not address any of it- especially the transfer portal issues. Which is more about bad advice than anything else- for so many players to be left there suggests that whoever is helping them gave them bad info that they would be wanted somewhere.

It is my understanding that mission trip years are exempt, so I think it allows you to add a year in that situation.
