NCAA Hockey - 2023/24 **Insert Witty Tagline**

Snuggerud returning for his junior year. Or so he says, anyway.

I don’t really expect him to pull a Cooley, though. The Blues are at least acting supportive. The Coyotes never stopped publicly pursuing Logan.
One of the reporters yesterday mentioned that Jimmy was keenly aware of what Cooleys stunt did to the team last year. Doesn’t mean he won’t, but hopefully a third generation gopher won’t do the same.

some blues fans are taking it poorly. Many seem convinced that this means snuggy doesn’t want to ever sign with blues and instead go to wild like Faber. Completely forgetting that LA traded Faber away- he didn’t run out the clock or throw a tantrum like Gauthier

Stramel from Wisco in portal, guessing he’ll go Michigan state

he is apparently “do not contact” meaning he knew where he’s going. Thats what sandelin was referring to Monday during his rant (I agree with him)

I look at UAA's list of players entering the portal and most are players that played in less than half of the games. The only really notable one is the goalie Jared Whale, which is kind of to be expected for a guy that had a 2.65 GAA and .900+ SV.

I’m guessing I’m in the minority being pro-transfer portal. It’s good to see the athletes getting some power and freedom. Plus, I think it’s a positive for a school like UAA, I’d rather be ~.500 feeder school than a sub .200 doormat.

I’m also pro-CHL players gaining eligibility too, can’t imagine that’s popular…

If I recall sandelin isn’t even against portal it’s the shadier stuff going on. Thats the part I don’t blame coaches being a little salty about
Meh, it’s gonna happen either way. Good luck policing it. And, honestly, good luck trying to enforce it too without ending up in court.

Edit: I will be honest and say most of this transfer portal drama cracks me up. It seems like it’s mostly mid and upper tier, but not blue blood programs, being upset about something that is eroding their built in advantages and evening out the landscape, at least a little. A school like UMD complaining about “tampering”? Please.

UMD as a “have not” school? Please. Sandelin can **** all the way off. The only thing they’re upset about is that they can’t hold these players hostage for all four years of eligibility. Dirty tricks, underhanded methods, and tampering is only supposed to happen before the player starts their eligibility!

I wonder if we'll ever see entire flotillas of players moving together. NMU has 12 slots but one morning 9 guys from the same AHA team come through that door.

Nmu has a lot of recruits coming in and are 7th ranked class- nearly all of the 12 leaving are seniors and grad students

Not to mention, the blue blood programs lose their best players after a year, two at most. Sure, they constantly reload, but instability is instability. There's no guarantee the reload will work -- see Minnesota last year compared to this year.

Yeah, the DNC thing is obvious tampering, but good luck proving anything.

I don't see why it would be tampering, at least not necessarily. If he's got four teams he wants to get bids from, I see no problem with entering the portal with the DNC tag.

edit: let me be very clear. I'm not saying it wasn't. I'm just it seems like faulty logic to assume it. Unless I'm missing something.

"How DARE they offer these players better underhanded deals than I offered them?"

Fiddlesticks - Tech's Kyle Kukkonen enters the portal. He had a sophomore slump and injury issues this season, but would've figured to play a prominent role in next year's squad. Guess he'll be doing that somewhere else now.
