Movies: Poor Things, Barbie and Oppenheimer are stuck in La La Land

The first Halloween still holds up if you're a fan of the genre.

Very much so.

Donald Pleasance was a gift to humanity.

Off the top of my head, the more accessible American genre entries:
  • Halloween
  • The Thing
  • Hellraiser
  • Candyman
  • The Evil Dead

1. Road Warrior is a great adventure movie; the rest blow.
2. Neither have I.
3. Fellowship is okay, the rest are wall paper.
4. The first one is meh, the rest I haven't seen.
5. Both Nightmare and Halloween are excellent.

Of all of these, the one to see, and the only one that will probably be remembered, is Road Warrior, which is funny because it's the one that takes itself least seriously. Or then again maybe that's why it is so good.

Halloween won't scare you. Nightmare on Elm Street, seen under the right conditions, is genuinely, non-ironically scary.

Well Furiosa was interesting. The setup was done. The beginning to the end of the movie had just started. And then the screen went blank. 10 minutes later we were sent home with Rain Checks.

Now I either have to go again and watch the whole thing again, or I need to wait to stream it so I can start where I ended.

It was a queen's gambit. {I'll let myself out...}

I have no idea what you fckers are talking about. I figure my wife will probably put it on as white noise over the next 5-10 years and I'll see it then. Yes, this has been Fade's latest, "Crochety old man in a thirtysomething year-old's body yells at cloud" moment.

Watching "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything..." and realizing if this movie were released today, theaters would be fire-bombed.

I saw that and wrote a review about it for the high school paper!

"To Wong Fu is Cross-Dressing Classic"!

I enjoyed it immensely :D

The entire generation whining about stuff like that grew up with Uncle Miltie, Flip Wilson, Mrs. Doubtfire, Some Like It Hot, Victor Victoria, etc., and never made a peep.

Which is just more evidence that all of this is just performative outrage, and nothing more.
