The second Matrix movie is the best one.

Woof.

You probably think Aliens > Alien.

Get a room with Handy. (Or the one who fights me on movies, I always forget. Actually, I think the other one left and it is Handy. But I also mix you up with Slap Shot. I'm not good at people, really.)

I don't like sequels usually in general more than the original but in the case of the Matrix I did. Dumb and Dumber? The sequel never happened.

Superman IV, Slap Shot 2 and Caddyshack 2 never happened.

What did happen was Shang-Chi and it was glorious. Perhaps my favorite MCU film to date. And as with nearly every movie of this type I have to put aside my disdain for epic battle endings and refocus on the greatness that happened lead up to it.

Aaah, that's another one. Superman II > Superman I.

If the CGI was better in Matrix 2 I might agree with Scooby...but it looks like a video game and does not hold up so I can't. I watched the Matrix last night and everything holds up still. In my Modern Philosophy class we definitely discussed Matrix Reloaded and I did my final presentation using it to explain everyone we studied. (and I got an A)

The Matrix is the better film, Matrix Reloaded is much more fun to discuss especially when it came out. Hell on this board there was some awesome discussions about what would happen next and what everything meant...good times :^) (I swear you were part of them Kepler but I could be mistaken) I liked the film but I LOVED discussing it more.

When it comes to Aliens/Alien I saw Aliens first (I wasnt born when Alien came out) so I love it...but there is no objective metric where I would ever say it is better. It is a great sequel and I watch it every time I see it is on TV but it is an action thriller in classic Cameron style. Alien took the Horror and Sci Fi as genres so much farther and deeper than they had been to that point. Ridley Scott just nailed everything down to even just the catchphrase "In Space No One Can Hear You Scream". Aliens works because it doesn't try to be Alien. It doesn't exactly work but I always say Alien is like Halloween in Space and Aliens is Terminator in Space.

True story my dad went to see Alien in the theater and freaked out before it started and left. Saw it on TV later and it is probably in his Top Ten films all time. When I was a kid we watched those two films whenever they were on.

The reason I like Matrix 2 is because it messes with your head way more than one did and it doesn't try to make any sense of what is going on. I hated that 3 tried to explain things. It also has the greatest car chase ever filmed outside of Deathproof.

Marvel is going full tilt on the multiverse with its next phase of movies. There are people trying to figure out which of the old Spider-Man actors are going to appear in the next movie, and I’d get a kick out of it if they included a short bit of Nick Cage doing voice work for his fully animated Noir Spider-Man from that recent animated movie.
