I’ve seen 5 of those and really want to see Zone of Interest now.
KOTFM, holdovers, Barbie, past lives, Oppenheimer all good.
See Maestro, it's amazing. Seriously. Cooper did an amazing job and I'm as shocked as anyone.

I actually thought America was not great. Her monologue felt ham fisted and cringey.
I've only seen Maestro so far.
It was nothing that hasn't been said a thousand times before and a thousand times better, but this was the very first time Middle America heard it, and it was said in a basic enough way that even the dumbest little girl in the audience picked up on it.
That's how real change happens. I think it's actually a social landmark.

I think having her up without Margot is….not great. And I think gosling deserves the nom. He was phenomenal in a role a lot of men wouldn’t even consider
I knew someone on here would be upset about the backlash to yesterday lol. Then again, some men missed the entire point of the movie and cried about the ending
Yesterday I didn't see the entire list of nominations until after work. But during the day I do get short chances to scroll social media.
Basically every meme I saw seemingly implied that Gosling was only notable nomination the film got. Basically saying that the snubs of the women in the film with the man getting the nom was the entire point of the movie.
I legit didn't realize that America got the nom until dinnertime when I sat down and watched a vlog that detailed the entire nomination list.
That was the point here. It's that social media framed this one way while conveniently ignore a fact that sort of blows up the narrative that the meme is suggesting. This is how reality works now and it's sad =(
Apparently no one noticed that America Farerra got nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
The Barbie memes spread like wildfire regarding the snubs of Robbie and Gherwig. And it's all BS.
So it’s not just cringey Oscar bait? I keep hearing that, and I def haven’t been a huge fan of some of his other work
Whether or not it is blown out of proportion (and it totally is) it is kind of a bad look and the memes write themselves. (Oh sure nominate Ken but not Barbie!) But it is not worthy of any real outrage just further proof that the Oscars are stupid and always have been. They were literally created to prop up the movie industry not be any sort of real way to judge quality.
I think if Greta had been nominated no one would have gone on a tirade but when the two main females (Director and Star) get snubbed from a film that was a cultural moment it is going to make fans mad. This is nothing new...it is just worse because now Jezebel can cry sexism.
A lot of people were so skeptical of what the movie would be, until they saw it.
I love Barbie and the message, but the thing is the only acting performance in it that deserved an Oscar was Gosling.
The real awards should go for screenplay, set design, costume, cinematography, directing, makeup and hairstyle, music. I hope to hell they used women for most/all of those tasks.
Yep. That was the crime. Greta should have been nominated.
