We watched Meg 2: The Trench. It's a completely over the top Jaws meets Fast & Furious and totally worth less than a few hours in the afternoon.

The original was extremely funny. I watched it without knowing what it was, and it was a hoot. It made absolutely not one single effort to take itself seriously.

Take the same approach with this one. There's a moment in a helicopter scene where both of us burst out laughing at the same time.

Mookie watched

death of the Nile (1978) - enjoyed it. Looked as though the filming was on location unlike the most recent version. Could be wrong. Loved the boys mooning Bette Davis from the shore

stoker ace - Burt reynolds doing Ricky Bobby first.

rewatched confess fletch. Grows on you. Picked up stuff mookie missed the first 6 viewings…

So far it sounds like they got pretty much everything they asked for. SAG-AFTRA is going to clean up next!

Wait, so the goddammed studios sat with their thumbs up their *ss for 100 days and then just went "yeah, we see your point, where do we sign?"

Goddammit. Is that what makes a good CEO who deserves 300% pay over their average salaries? Replace *every* CEO with AI.

Also, was it here earlier in the thread or maybe it was TikTok, but I saw that the same sh*t the studios are pulling today was exactly what lead to them being broken up in the 30's. We need to re-break up these companies.
