I have watched Blazing Saddles a dozen times, and I had no idea that the herpa derp who leads "Camptown Races" is Slim Pickens.

Close. Slim Pickens plays Taggert, Hedley Lamar's lead stooge and leader of the derps but it's someone else who leads the singing (Burton Gilliam as Lyle) and Pickens character Taggert then shows up and asks "What in the wild wild world of sports is going on here?"
 
has there been a better american actor than John Travolta?

versatile? singing, dancing, acting.

3 iconic roles. grease, saturday night fever, pulp fiction
not to mention hairspray!

career resurgence with pulp (20yrs).

sure, he's a nut with the cult & all. but the body of work can't be denied.

Saw Oppenheimer. Excellent. Predicting Oscars for Best Picture, Director, Actor, and probably Cinematography. Maybe supporting actor (RDJ or Damon), or supporting actress (Blunt). Probably at least a few others (adapted screenplay, maybe a sound or art direction/visual effects)

I just took a look at the cast list. How I didn't realize Dr Lawrence was played by Josh Hartnett I have no idea. Also didn't realize Gary Oldman was Truman. James Urbaniak who I recognize mostly from voice work was also in it but again didn't realize I even saw him. The only people I knew I would see are the obvious ones: Murphy, RDJ, Damon, Blunt, and Pugh. And then quite a few people who had significant screen time who I recognized when I saw them but couldn't necessarily name. And of course some big names I did recognize but didn't have tons of screen time (Branagh as Bohr for example).

I recognized hartnett right away but I did hang out with him back in the day. He’s only now starting to show signs of aging I think

I almost didn’t recognize blunt
 
Maybe it was just me, but shortly after seeing the who's who, all those actors just got lost in their roles (in a good way). I didn't sit their thinking "well Tony Stark sure looks older..."
 
Barbie was great.

cannot believe some guys freak out at this movie. How many women watch countless ridiculous comic or superhero bs movies because their partner likes them?

i have a feeling that type of guy missed the entire point of the movie anyway. Their loss
