Priscilla, Queen of the Desert

For whatever reason I always mix this up with To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.

I think I saw them back to back and conflated them into one movie or something.

Operation Finale:

About the Israeli spy mission to extract Adolph Eichmann from Argentina for his WWII crimes. Great cast, Kingsley is awesome, as always. It does keep the seriousness of the event, but does insert some light-hearted one-liners and dark humor for a bit of distraction, so it doesn't come across as "TOTES SRS!"

Priscilla takes place in Australia. And stars "Agent Smith" Hugo Weaving. Something I could never wrap my head around.

Sounds like a buddy and I are hitting up "Joker" for the first showing on Sunday morn (10:15am). Should be zero crowd. I've done this rodeo before on big opening weekends, and the most people that have gone has topped out at about 10 (we're talking Star Wars, Batman, etc).

We're watching all the Fast and Furious movies after a drunken discussion when Hobbs and Shaw came out that it might be important to see the leading up movies. (Pretty sure it isn't remotely important). We just finished Furious 7. I enjoyed the first one, third one (for the number of racing scenes), and five. Two was pleasant. Four was dreck as was 6 and 7 really wasn't that great. It's been...fun though. The movies have gotten even more ridiculous and there are some surprising actual character arcs and character development.

I remember watching the VHS tape of that movie with my parents and brother. I’m still not sure if my parents were awesome or terrible.

Tokyo Drift is an underrated gem. It knows what it is, a ridiculous show, and never strays from that path.

I wanted to hate it, but d*mn it, it's fun. It features the most racing scenes (subjectively) and I really like Han's character (and I wasn't sure we'd be seeing more of him when I first saw the movie).

This is a little confusing, because the whole reason Poirot was on the train in the first place is to help solve some unknown crisis...and suddenly he's off to Egypt...

Coulda sworn that already came out and was panned, which disappointed me because I was looking forward to it.

Orient Express was released a few years back with a star studded cast that sat around chewing scenery all day while wearing period costumes and was thumbs down'd by a lot of reviewers.

It wasn't the David Suchet Hercule Poirot I grew up watching on PBS, but all be dammed if I didn't enjoy Kenneth Branagh's version. It was a fun piece that breezed through the story. And they eluded to the sequel being Death on the Nile right at the end, so I was hoping they did come out with this one.

Looking forward to it, despite the reviews Orient got.

That's right; thank you.

I grew up with Peter Ustinov Poirot! :p

Suchet was amazing -- I have the box set.

I really enjoy Branaugh so I'll double back and catch Orient Express. Have you seen his Love's Labor's Lost? It's wonderful -- Shakespeare as Cole Porter. :)

The Suchet Death on the Nile is one of the best episodes (although there are many, many great episodes).

I have not seen Branagh's Love's Labour's Lost, but looking at the cast I missed one hell of a movie and need to circle back and watch it.

And anytime anyone mentions Poirot, all I can remember is Suchet in his white suit in the Egyptian sun. Pretty sure that was the go to repeat episode my PBS station always aired.

It's just as you described the other: breezy and light, as if you took all the fun and Michael Keaton parts of Branaugh's Much Ado without the dark and Keanu Reeves parts.

Just described mookie (though younger and in better shape):

Mookie will be in his white formal jacket for a breasts fundraiser here end of the month. Sure to be a hit ;)
