Episode 9 was not garbage, but not great either.

I get the situation, but JJ doesn't seem to understand the phrase "Show, don't tell" I felt that the first 45 minutes was Exposition Dump: The Movie. You also just have things mentioned in passing that are HUGE and just have to run with it. Overall the narrative was VERY predictable, but the ending did serve the purpose, so it gets a passing grade. I can see why the internet is in a tizzy over this. As people see the movie, I do feel that word of mouth will kill the run of this movie and that it will have to earn all of it's money by New Year's Day.

Star Wars has never been about "Show Dont Tell" it is always about one of the characters telling us exactly what the story is beat for beat. Hell that is what the droids are for half the time so the characters can say what is happening in half a conversation ;)

I gave the film a 7 out of 10.

LOL. All the people who lost their minds about Episode 8 got EXACTLY what they wanted in Episode 9. They have no one to blame but themselves.

They arent blaming anyone. They are happy as hell. The ones upset are the TLJ lovers like the critics ;)

And BTW does Di$ney have any original ideas anymore? 3 of the previews I saw were a Marvel film, the live action Mulan and another remake of Dr. Doolittle. (with RDJ and his fake *** accent) I mean come on can we at least try here...

FREE GUY was the one of the trailers that I saw before Episode 9... Technically Disney, but obviously had wheels in motion before the acquisition of Fox... Seemed like an ok idea w/ Reynolds involved.

No, they don’t. They’re playing it really safe right now with the cash laid out on some big ventures. They know that people will go see the live-action remakes for the nostalgia, even if they go around complaining about a lack of new ideas.

You mean the Wreck-It-Deadpool movie?

I missed that one I guess.

Dont get me wrong, I love nostalgia as much as the next guy but I mean they arent even trying.

I assume next will be The Nutty Professor with Chris Evans or The Shaggy Dog with Mark Ruffalo ;) Then...in response to Fast and Furious Herby the Love Bug with Paul Rudd :D

Cats sucked when it was first performed in 1981, still sucks today, and we'll be talking about how much it sucks in 2045 when they come out with the fully immersive/interactive 3D VR version where middle-aged housewives get to virtually don ridiculous costumes and live out their Grizabella karaoke fantasies.

Also, worst SW movie in 20 years? Boy it's going to have to suck HARD to be worse than Attack of the Clones.

Metacritic is Rottentomatoes through a Kepler Lens ;) They hate this film because they think The Last Jedi is high art so to them it IS worse than attack of the clones.

Of course this movie doesnt have CGI Yoda bouncing around like a cat on meth so...

I think people who think this is the worst SW movies in 20 years forgot episodes 1-3. Which, quite honestly, is very understandable. They were not really worth the time to watch them.

I'm not sure why people are surprised that Cats is getting a very poor response. It's far from common that musicals translate to movies all that well- Rent and The Producers were/are awesome on stage, but the movies really struggle. Chicago was done well because they deviated from the stage production really nicely to enhance the story.

Add to that Cats is a VERY divisive musical in the first place- every comment I've seen is that you either LOVE it, or walk out at the intermission. So there's a very small population that is even willing to go see that movie.

(Cats is being shown on a ship, which we've avoided for quite some time- but will be on it next May. I have incredibly low expectations.)
