Read the story again, Spidey will show up in Marvel movies (most likely Cap 3 first) but Sony will still make the solos with Kevin Feige of Marvel/Disney acting as Producer. Sony still has full control of the character it will just be rebooted (again) and allowed to cross over into the Marvel Universe.

"Sony Pictures will thereafter release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, on July 28, 2017, in a film that will be co-produced by Kevin Feige and his expert team at Marvel and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago. Together, they will collaborate on a new creative direction for the web slinger. Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films."

The purpose of the post was to make a one more day reference not to actually make a serious notice of Sony letting spiderman play at someone elses house.

Oh I gotcha...my buddy the Spidey freak quit comics because of that cruddy storyline :D

Still wanted to make sure Scooby didnt get too excited before his heart was ripped out ;)

I am not a big Spidey guy so it matters not to me :)

If the movie is out on DVD then people have no right to ***** imho.

I watched Birdman the other...weird movie but I loved it! Very much in the Death to Smoochy realm and Michael Keaton was fantastic as was Ed Norton.

I don't know. Talking about a 20 year old book that has a popular tv series based upon it brings out the "spoilers!!!1!!!1" brigade.

All I am saying is that I appreciate people who put spoilers on plot elements for movies that are relatively new (say, a couple years). You are obviously free to do anything you want, as there are no Spoiler Police, but a fair number of us don't get around to seeing movies on Netflix until they are long, long past their first run.

For that matter, if I was posting about say a mystery movie from the 30's, I wouldn't give away the end without a spoiler. Politeness 101. IMHO.

Spoiler for every comic book movie or tv show ever. No one ever really wins.

I mean honestly, how long has the Joker been around and never once could they keep him off the streets for good. Put a bullet in his head and be done with it already!

I'll be honest that I'm on the fence after hearing about this... I don't like the shuffle/stress that is going to come along to try and shoehorn Spidey into things... Kevin Feige has worked wonders with the intricacy involved in the building of the Marvel Cinematic Universe... I fear that this will be Spidey being thrown in just because they can... I can't see a realistic way they can play out the Civil War storyline in a similar manner to the comic... I don't want to see Spidey go from no existence to being the center of the universe without some decent build up...

I'm also curious how this effects other movies... The date for the new Spiderman film will fall on the same day that Thor: Ragnarok was supposed to premier... Assuming that it just pushes everything back one date, you now have Black Panther AFTER Avengers: Infinity War I... You also have Inhumans getting bumped till after Avengers: Infinity War II... How much does this play into the stories that were going to play out... You now have several introduction films occurring AFTER films that are supposed to be the climax of everything that preceded them...

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out... Lots of questions, few answers right now...

None of those release dates are set in stone right now. They can easily push something back a couple weeks in order to accommodate one of the other franchises. And since Spider-man is now going to be reboot yet again, the writers and producers can work in all the character build up they need. Or the premise of those Infinity War movies (I don't know what those wars are) will be altered in some fashion to make Captain America or Ironman the main guy. Most of the people watching these movies have never read any of the comics (raises hand) and therefore won't know jack from squat in the changes made.

I think the move is pretty meh mainly because it is just another reboot made by Sony. Literally the only value is the crossover appeal otherwise not much changes.

Marvel was going to move the Black Panther and Thor movie anyways at some point this just gave them an excuse.

The Art Of The Steal (2013)

Toss-away con-artist movie. It had its moments, but you've probably seen them all before in better movies. Terence Stamp did shine, though, as he always does. He plays a former con-artist that is working with Interpol, condescending as ever. :D
