I also enjoyed The Apartment, The Lady Eve(1941 Barbara Stanwyck & Henry Fonda.) Gotta have TCM.Grading of all RomComs in history:
Groundhog Day: A
Fifty First Dates: B+
When Harry Met Sally: B
all others: F
Note: RomComs begin in 1970. Prior to that directors and writers were competent enough to make great movies that also happened to involve romance and comedy. For example:
Bringing Up Baby: A+
The Philadelphia Story: A+
His Girl Friday: A+
It Happened One Night: A+

I couldn't live without TCM.
Big reason I love Netflix. TONS of old movies. Even stuff from the early 1910s, etc.
I discovered the other day that there is a senior citizens discount at the local Bijou.
I didn't know that. I like Netflix but I haven't figured out a good way to browse it yet.
I have a list of the AFI Top 100 that I've been slowly checking off. I recommend doig that.
I would put High Fidelity on my top rom-com list. The list starts with When Harry Met Sally though. TPB is a great movie, though I agree that I don't think it's a romantic comedy. Stranger than Fiction would be up near the top as well.
