Re: Movie Thread: Grab Some Popcorn, Enjoy The Show
The last shot...with the cook wearing the "legal" uniform...that is what is telling. Total corruption down there.
Narco Cultura:
Yeah, on a cartel kick. Sue me. Documentary focusing on Juarez CSI unit and an LA band that sings narco carridos which is like our "gangsta rap" but in mariachi/Mexican style.
It's much more raw than Cartel Land. Footage of crime scenes, drug use, gunfire, etc. That whole culture is f*ing insane, and anyone who questions how criminal/evil/chaotic the cartels are, and how bad it is, needs to watch this. Obviously, I had a darn good idea, and even this doc surprised me at times. The narco lifestyle is ingrained into many Mexicans' mentality of who they want to be.
I thought the more significant message of that movie was that at the end of the day, vigilantes (no matter how good their initial intentions) essentially become like the cartels themselves. Lawless thugs leveling their own vision of justice. But I agree it's worth watching.
