Both played very well.
Many fans were expecting Gleason to be the 7th dman behind Finehage entering the season, but he showed that he deserved a spot in the top 6. Very smooth skater, poised with the puck, and he seemed to make the right decision each time, not trying to do too much. I can see him being a very good collegiate dman in the future.
Kristo was as good as advertised. He'll be in the running for the WCHA ROTY. Very fast, good hands, quick release. He fits in well on the top line with Gregoire and VV...that line will be tough for opposing teams to shutdown.

Thanks for the responses. I caught a lot of his games at Edina and found him to be as exciting as they come with the puck on his stick. I suppose I am not as familiar with your current defense....I usually just picture the strong-willed, stick to the backside, clear the front of the net type of defenseman is in my mind the perception of UND defenseman. Something the U of M could use more of (had in Bickel).

Hexy got into all of the goofers heads last year and this year will be no different... the best thing you can hope for is that your team attempts to ignore him:D

Maybe it will be a love seat? Dirty, I feel like a have a good caption for the dancing gayphers pic but it's longer than one line so I guess this is the point were I ask permission. Ok, i'm going to do it anyway but a little courtesy sometimes goes a long way.

Please. Brett would give Old Man Hextall the thrashing of his life. But then when Brett proves that he has like 12 balls compared to daddy's 6, you'd whine about that too. "Brett was mean and hurt poor [fill in pansy Gopher player here] [Pansy Gopher player] just got a manicure! How dare Hextall! :mad:"

Ppptt. NAU has a rotten hockey squad. Full of hacks, morons and non-skating debutantes. They completely sucked in the University of Phoenix series, and I expect them to lose to DeVry too. :rolleyes: :D

Pardon if I call, "horse hockey". One, not only would speaking to real live Gophers fans require you to leave your coccoon, but two I have yet to see a Gophers fan here or at GPL make a similar prediction. Sorry but I'm not buying your supposed cross sampling. :)

While I wouldn't want to lose Hextall for a game already, I really wouldn't mind seeing him square off against a Gopher. I have a feeling Hextall could do some damage. :)

I've heard good things about Leddy already this season, but I still think it will be hard for a dman to win the ROTY in the WCHA. Goalies and forwards get most of the attention, and unless Leddy puts up a massive amount of points, I see the award going to either a goalie or forward.

I agree. I skimmed through the GPL thread on this match up and was disappointed by almost a complete lack of trash talking. Just seemed to be a lot of belief that if MN doesn't play with a little more grit than they did last year in Grand Forks, similar results may follow.

Personally, I expect a much different series this weekend. Last year UND was the older, more experienced team, and it showed. This year it's reversed.

Agreed. I think the best chance for a Sioux victory is on Friday night...hope to catch the Gophers a bit rusty from not playing a real game yet this year. The Gophers definitely have the experience edge this season though.

Brent should totally drive his forklift up to Grand Forks. He of course will not though because going to road games confuses and scares him.

Just like it was typical when on Sunday Gopher fans were pre-whining about all the mean things UND was going to do.
