Q: How difficult will it be to start the year with the WCHA favorites, North Dakota and Denver?

A: "It was kind of similar last year starting with St. Cloud and then going down to Madison in the first two weekends of the season. We didn't have the luxury of playing any non-conference teams. We are going to find out right away since these two teams are ranked number one and two in our league. We play them four times each this year, so we have a very good difficult schedule but that is the way we want it. You play good teams like that early and you find out what your weaknesses are, and the areas that you need to work on. We'll find out a lot about where we are at in the first two weeks of the season. We got off to a great start last year and didn't finish the way we wanted to. We want to make sure we finish the way we want to this season."

After watching the Sue/Merrihack series this weekend, I expect MN to blow up the Sue's weaknesses. I wasn't impressed by the Sue for the most part this weekend. Once they had the lead on Fri, they sat on their laurels, until the game was tied. One cannot do that against a real hockey team like MN (or Denver, or BU, etc etc etc).

Saturday, they looked like they were going through the motions. Just do enough to win. Don't dominate like the Sue should against a team like Merrihack. Chalk it up to the first games, overconfidence (arrogance? Naw, MN has the bead on that angle), I dunno. But the Sue didn't play like the Sue I know this past weekend, that's for sure.

And yet if Hextall tossed a couch at someone, you'd complain about that too. So really your opinion doesn't matter. You're used to that though.

I for one am glad we are playing the Sioux right away. This is the time of year they usually suck, and the Gophers dominate.

Would I rather it be the other way around? Irrelevant.:p

I'd only complain if it happened on-ice (which wouldn't surprise me) or if it affected my team directly. Other than that...hell, toss furniture all you want. Only makes you look like a fool. :D

How would Hextall manage to get a couch onto the bench? And for these couch tossings, exactly how is a player able to throw a couch at someone?

Oh no not Merrimack!!!!!! This is the difference between the Gophers and Sioux. Gopher schedule tough games to open the season. Like for example next weekend WE open in North Dakota, the Fighting Suck schedule Merrimack!!!! That's why Gopher hockey will always be better than everyone else is because we play the tough competition while the Fighting Suck schedule cupcake teams!!!!

That group is hilarious.
Ryan Dvoracek, the group admin, must have been completely hammered when he created the group...and then also for every subsequent post, as he makes about 350 spelling/grammatical mistakes on there. One tip...it's "you're", not "your". Nicely done, showing off your <strike>college</strike> <strike>high school</strike> middle school education. :)

Oh dear, according to his MySpace page, he wants to be a police officer. Scary. And he likes Nascar, which should tell you something about his IQ level. :D

I'm a bit concerned that he's 36 and not finished with school.

Yeah, would have been nice if Merrimack instead of having quality goaltending had an inferior tendor like Kangas. :p

We've admitted, apologized, and have felt shame for that game. Too bad Sue fans keep hanging on to that fact like HC was their team. :p
