Re: MN Golden Gopher 2010 Offseason Thread

New recruit on defense could prove to be very effective for the Gophers next season:

Earlier thhis evening Ryan Stoa scored his first NHL goal playing for the Colorado Avs against the Chicago Blackhawks. He has spent most of the season playing with Lake Erie in the AHL.

How do you know it is a Gopher fan? That is what I thought you don't know.

Only a Goofer fan would say something that stupid. Not even a Sue fan would make a big deal out of a not so meaningful conference tournament championship.

Your team got its *** kicked last night and you're worried about rep on a message board?

In which way? As a complete distraction to all the straight players on the other team? Or as a guarantee to maintain attendance even if we see another bad season?

Like ScoobyDOO said, you received an embarrassing butt whooping at the hands of an Eastern team. Thanks for representing the WCHA so well losers!!!

Kohl center is your second home? Where, in the broom closet?

Wisconsin - "real state of hockey" As evidenced by what? All of the great youth hockey players that come out of sconnie?? More like state of hillbilly deer hunters that wear blaze orange to football games and brush their two teeth at night before they go to bed.

I anticipate a combination of both. Think of it Koho, while everyone is staring at our "secret weapon's" every move, the Gophers can score at will. Think of it, the band will be playing the Rouser continuously! There may be a little criticism from opponents with guys like Jacob Cepis running up the score for style points, but hey Jacob can just tell them all off.;)

I think this plan would backfire. I have it on good authority that the majority of St, Clooud's players aren't into girls, per se.

I apologize for all the smack talk, or lack thereof, that I have sent west to the Twin Cities. I have called you the most arrogant, condescending fans in the nation. I have been wrong

Humbled, I have my tail between my legs and I bow to you for forgiveness.

Who knocked you off the mountain? Those chowderheads, of course.

Dammit, we need to try harder. It's been tough to maintain over the past three years though. :(

Re: MN Golden Gopher 2010 Offseason Thread

News out of Mpls. just keeps getting better and better all the time.

http://noalibisnoregrets.blogspot.com/2010/04/ryan-walters-de-commits-from-minnesota.html

Ryan Walters De-Commits From Minnesota **UPDATE: Just Spoke With Walters**
Just spoke to sources close to the situation (Updated: Talked to Ryan as well) that have confirmed that Ryan Walters has de-committed from Minnesota.

Walters from the time he committed was promised a spot in 2010. Even when he left for Des Moines this fall he was still told he would be a 2010. He committed in the fall of 2007. He did everything that was asked of him.

I was told that Minnesota set goals for him, and that they wanted him to have a 60+ point season in the USHL this year and he put up 61. They wanted him to be a USHL All-Star and he was the MVP at the All-Star game.

I wrote an article back in early March talking about how the Gophers have over-recruited the forward position for 2010 and that there were going to be a lot of ****ed off players. I knew that there were going to be some kids that wouldn't make it to Minnesota and it looks like Walters is the first shoe to drop.

This is what I had to say about Walters in the article, "Ryan Walters committed shortly after Youso. Walters is having an excellent season in the USHL right now. He's averaging over a point per game right now for Des Moines. I know that there has been talk that he'll do what the coaches tell him, but you don't ask a point per game player in the USHL who is committed for 2010 to play his third season in the USHL so Tom ***** Serratore can come in and play."
