Re: MN Golden Gopher 2010 Offseason Thread

It's not Minnesota Nice to tease the retarded.

But it IS Minnesota Nice to gosip about the "special" new people and talk about them behind their back :D

In case you need some refresher training on how to deal with special people such as Duey... Here are some helpful videos :D http://www.ada.gov/policevideo/policebroadbandgallery.htm#Anchor-Part-48213 I see Duey is getting the help he needs and is finally learning basic life skills..... Don't forget to catch that bus Duey

Duey is only allowed to post while wearing a helmet and he lost it on the short bus the other day...sad really.

Oh I saw he called me gay...wow that was a creative insult when I was 12 then again that is about Duey's intelligence so to him it is probably epic :p
Wait, Duey was on Shortbus? I knew Shortbus is a big fan of men, but I didn't know that Duey swayed that way too.

I thought if I insult him at his level, he may actually understand what is going on. :p

Re: MN Golden Gopher 2010 Offseason Thread

It never occurred to me that Cade Fairchild was a flight risk, but apparently there was some speculation that Cade Fairchild might not be back next season. According to Ciskie, he's coming back. One of the question marks is goalie Joel Vienneau, who may join the Gophers. IMO Kangas most likely will come back for his senior year, and with Patterson, Kremer as backups, why would the Gophers carry a 4th goalie?

They wouldn't unless Kangas decides it is time to go.

The puzzling thing is I don't think it is dependent on whether Kangas leaves or not. According to Kingston Kimco Voyageurs coach Evan Robinson, they're ready to reload at his position and expecting Joel Vienneau to play for the Gophers. There's no doubt in my mind Kangas is coming back next season.

As well, starting goaltender Joel Vienneau is expected to be playing in the NCAA -- with Minnesota a likely destination.

So the author believes Vienneau is coming to Minnesota, this ought to get interesting.

If the rumors of Blais coming to Minnesota prove to be true, is there any doubt that some Gopher goalie will end up floating down the Mississippi?

With the extension to Blais' contract, he will invest and finish his coaching career at UNO.

Here's the Grand Forks Herald article if access is denied:

Blais signs contract extension
By: Herald Staff Report, Grand Forks Herald

Nebraska-Omaha coach Dean Blais, who led UND to national titles in 1997 and 2000, has signed a two-year contract extension with the Mavericks. Blais is now under contract through 2014-15.

Nebraska-Omaha coach Dean Blais, who led UND to national titles in 1997 and 2000, has signed a two-year contract extension with the Mavericks.

Blais is now under contract through 2014-15.

“The university is clearly committed to the success of the hockey program and I am committed to the job we began here last season,” Blais said. “My wife and I have come to enjoy Omaha and with this extension, I anticipate being able to finish my head coaching career at Omaha.”

Omaha will join the Western Collegiate Hockey Association next season.

With Minnesota’s struggles the last three years, boosters have continually mentioned Blais as a possible candidate if coach Don Lucia were to leave. Blais played at Minnesota in the 1970s.

So Lucia will have to throw the goalie(s) into the Mississippi.

There's a very convenient bridge at Washington Avenue for that. Kind of a long drop though. There have been a few goalies in the past that many Gopher fans would have helped over the railing.

Re: MN Golden Gopher 2010 Offseason Thread

Got the second one right...DANG IT! The NCAA NEEDS to address this leaving early issue.

Why? They can't do anything about it. DU lost blue chip players that could have gone to the CHL, I would rather see them play 2-3 in the NCAA than 1-2 in the CHL. UND, UW, DU and Minnesota lose players every year to the NHL. It's part of hockey.
