Watch your SportsCenter tonight, Brandon Nimmo just made one of the ten best catches I have seen in 50 years as a baseball fan.

It was a very nice catch, but I don't think it would rank in the Top 10 catches by Twins' centerfielders.

It must suck being a Mets fan. ; )

There’s a high school in MI, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, that just won their third straight state title, led by a pitcher committed to Clemson but likely going straight to the pros as a first round pick. They’re being named the #1 team in the country by a few places. It’s a private school, so easier to build a roster, but still interesting to see a northern school as top in the country. Unfortunately due to high school association rules they weren’t allowed to go to any of the USA Baseball showcase tournaments. The best they could do was travel down to Ohio and play some teams there.

They finished 44-0 and are now on a 66 game win streak. They were 43-1 last year with the only loss coming by a run. That lone game is the only thing standing in front of a 116 game win streak, which would smash the current national record of 89.

I wonder with the NIL cash and the bennies of an on campus experience, if he would take the pro route after HS?

The living conditions at the low minors level are not exactly ideal. Plus you're on a bus every other week for lord knows how long eating whatever.

You can live better at a power 5 school with the jock dorm, training tables, etc. They have better facilities, too.

His signing bonus could be anywhere from 3.4 million to 4.9 million based on his mid-first round projection. I don’t see NIL in baseball beating that yet, even at Clemson. With that much money I think you take it. At that point you can afford your own apartment and training table.

On this day in 1905, Archibald Graham was a defensive replacement for the NY Giants.

The rest is history.
