Mick was thinking about a different 40.

Reminds me of the double header where Dizzy Dean threw a 3-hit shutout in the opener and Daffy Dean through a no-hitter in the nightcap. Dizzy said, "if he'd-a told me he was gonna do it I'd have thrown one too."

(The Dodgers' first hit in the opener came in the 8th inning.)

Sounds like they’ll be mic’ing umps this year for announcements after reviews.

Also reports that the DH may come to the NL as soon as next season.

I can hear the griping from "the DH rule in baseball is awful" crowd now.

I think we should get rid of replay completely. It really hasn't added any value to the games.

I've been more and more leaning towards getting rid of replay from all sports. Seriously.

It has turned into a runaway monster far removed from its original intent and purpose.

This is also my opinion. Be prepared: some people go ballistic at this.

The only sport where replay works as intended is tennis. Keep it there. Maybe in basketball limited to whether a buzzer beater beat the clock. Everywhere else it needs to go.

Yes. Well, sort of. I'm thinking of the electronic line judge. Also the equivalent in cricket. Maybe someday for balls and strikes and foul balls in MLB. Keep that.

But screw replay. Let every judgment call on the field stand; let all action be spontaneous. MSFA -- Make Sports Fun Again.

Basically, allow electronic assistance but not replay.
