So in a meaningless game with a bunch of scrubs playing the field the Nats are having a special day so far.

No-no bye-bye in the 8th.

I caught the post-mortem on the Nats local broadcast. They showed the fielding he was getting behind him. There were at least 3 plays and maybe as many as 5 that would go in my scorebook as a "!" Pretty nice job by a team obviously not in the best of moods. Although maybe they were just psyched to be rid of Pap.

They'll have to eat most of that 11 mil to trade him. He also has limited no trade. He can veto 17 teams.

Also, the GM who signs him has to be completely non-risk averse. If he blows up / poisons the clubhouse / murders three hookers during a road trip in Seattle, the critics can blame it all on the GM's poor judgment.

Plus, he hasn't been a great pitcher since 2009.

Cards IBB Alvarez. Cervelli hits a grand slam 2 pitches later.

5-1 Bucs in the 4th.

Has some permutation of the Cubs, Cards, and Pirates being playing one another for the last 15 days? It sure seems like it.

Yes. In all divisions teams play mostly their own division for last 20 or so games. Really it's bit longer than that even.

Yeah, I knew the new schedule is like that (which is good), but it sure seems like those three teams have been playing round robin (and it seems like the Pirates are destroying the other two).

Pirates are actually terrible vs their division this season. Only 8-9 vs Cards prior to today, and that's good for them.
