Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

No idea. And given the histories of some of the teams, it's kinda questionable or meaningful the number is. Also one report I saw said first team "in the American League," implying that a National League team has done it. No idea who that might be.

I'm sure there are NL teams with more wins, since they have a 25-year head start on the AL.

From here, updated 38 Yankees wins ago:

NL teams are multiple for 10k wins.

Cubs, Braves, Pirates, Cardinals, Dodgers, and 1 other I forget. Giants probably.

Eta, see previous post.

I haven't been paying too much attention to the regular season this year.... looked at the standings the other day and it seems kind of weird:

The teams with the 2nd-best and 3rd-best records in all of baseball across all divisions have a one-game playoff against each other so that the winner can then play the team with the best record in all of baseball??

Sort of like having a team in the NFL with a 7-9 record have a home playoff game.... oh wait, never mind. :(

JFC. If anything they need to go back to the old format or shorten the regular season.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

Scherzer is one Escobar error short of a perfect game after 6 at Not Shea.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

aj burnett just tied christy matthewson for something. that doesn't seem right.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

Max Scherzer threw his 2nd no-hitter of the season tonight, striking out 17.

The last pitcher to throw 2 in a regular season: Nolan Ryan.

Re: MLB 2015 - Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

Prior record for Ks, both teams, DH: 41. (Three-way tie, Mets involved in all three).

Today's Wash-NY DH: 59.

You don't often see a major league record broken by 20%.

Scherzer also tied Ryan's record for most Ks in a no hitter: 17.

This was the second time the Mets have been no hit this year.

CC Sabathia checks into alcohol rehab.

And he is long removed from being a Brewer where I would have expected an announcement like this to originate.

Or Miller Light is just as watered down as Bud Light.

Starting CC down this path by paying his salary in sausages and beer may not have been the Brewers best move. ;)

Matt Harvey didn't show up to a mandatory work out today, and no one really knows why. He says he was stuck in traffic, but then said he just lost track of time.

Houston and Yanks about to start. Rooting for the 'Stros to pull off an amazing worst to first story.

Didn't the twins win it all in 87 entering the playoffs with a sub-.500 record?
