Now it will end 7-6 in 10 innings.

I remember a game I was at in the Dome where Baker had a perfect game going in the top of the 9th. He lost the perfect game in one of the at-bats, lost the no-hitter in the next at-bat, and the shutout in the next at-bat. Or something like that. They might not have been back-to-back-to-back but it was crazy. I think we almost lost that game in the end.

The Cubs are going to win the World Series this year.

Interesting play in the Pirates/Cubs game.

Double play is turned and the man who caught the ball at 2nd of course never touched the bag. The neighborhood play, and not reviewable. However the Cubs challenged that the throw took him off the bag, and the double play was overturned. Runner at 2nd is safe, and the runner at 1st is out.

2 days in to the season and they have circumvented the "not reviewable" rules already!

if jordy had to stay on the bag (a la 1st base) he could have. the throw was just to the left side so he could turn it.

didn't understand that.

then they take 5 minutes on the pitch that marte "fouled" and couldn't get that right.

work in progress......

The Mariners need to start losing or people in Seattle will get hope...

The God Bless America tradition on Sunday afternoons has run its course imo. Annoying and a downer compared to Take Me Out.

Doesn't help that it's usually some female opera singer. Makes me cringe.

/rant

PS The one today from the Red Sox/Brewers game was wretched. My cat ran for the basement.

This. I'm tired of it as well. Or that there's always some asswipe who screams at people for not taking off their hat for that song. Guys, it's not the national anthem. Shut the f*k up already.

Well if they keep it up like they're playing now... I'm not a baseball guy so I'll take your word.

Not having Iwakuma and Walker will stink. I like the young guys they have. Smoak and Ackley seem to off to a good start and could give Cano the protection he needs. Still think they're a year off from giving the A's, Angels and Rangers problems, but the team is going in the right direction at the moment.

Caught my first game of the season tonight. Watched the Sox kick the holy hell out of the Rockies. It was rough. But the good news is that I paid $4 for the ticket, and got a coupon for a $1 Hebrew National for being one of the first 10,000 in the gate. And my buddy is a Sox fan, so he enjoyed the drubbing.

HOU/TOR might be worth watching for a bit.

Morrow (tor) has faced 6 batters and struck out 5 of them. Is the K record 20?

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

He slowed down a bit, but still 6 of 9 on Ks in his first trip through the order.

Re: MLB 2014: I paid the $20 mil posting fee for the right to start this thread

Morrow gave up a hit, but still 8 of 12 outs have been Ks. Not a record pace anymore, since he only has 3 more non-K outs to play with.
