Word is Red Sox minority owner Tom Werner is one of three finalists for MLB Commissioner. And it isn't even April 1st yet!

I'd like to know why Australia hates the Dodgers so much when the rest of the world unanimously hates the Yankees. The Dodgers gave them Vin Scully holding a koala!!! How can you hate that!?!

Also, wildly off topic but LLWS regionals are going on right now. The Oklahoma team lost all three games by a combined score of 67-1, including an 18 run inning in one of their games. They earned one hit (not even the same game they scored their only run in) and had 19 errors. Pretty amazing that's the best team Oklahoma has to offer. Maybe they all focused on that new 50/70 division making the LLWS division second class.
JFC, even Alaska teams aren't that bad.

The Alaska team is actually in the NW Semis. They play today at 5 ET on ESPN2, so like 11am Alaska? Or noon?

Right now Alaska and Hawaii are in semifinals and South Dakota is in the Midwest final, so there could end up being a strange combination of states at the LLWS.

Funny, I actually looked it up not long after posting that. From the looks of it, they did well going 3-1 but will need a miracle to get past Oregon and Washington.

If you play Alaska or Hawai'i do the games count on your schedule?

Rob Manfred has been elected the next MLB commissioner.

Fortunate for the Red Sox that Tom Werner didn't get the job. It would have been hard to replace him, because first they would have had to figure out what, if anything, he does.

He runs NESN. He is responsible for such rating winners as Sox Appeal.

Angels pitcher Garrett Richards blows out a knee covering first - stretchered off.

Saw a reference on the Stanley Cup thread to the Polish Prince, and I was trying to remember what White Sox player was known as the Polish Prince--70s or 80s player, I think, but the memory is dim. Googled it, and Parise! everybody gets called the Polish Prince. But I still can't think of my guy. Help?

The Wednesday night LLWS game was the highest-rated baseball game on ESPN since a 2007 Red Sox - Yankees game.

I think this was the first year I didn't watch a single moment of the LLWS. What was going on on Wednesday to garner such ratings?

Mo'ne Davis was pitching. She's the girl on the cover of SI, who had already won two games at the LLWS, including the first shutout ever thrown by a female pitcher. She ended up going only 2 1/3 but struck out six batters. The next time we see her, she's hoping to be in a basketball uniform at UConn. And Geno Auriemma has already talked to her.
