MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Wow. Not just the score Giants 7 Cards 0 at the seventh inning stretch.

But the magical rendition of God Bless America by [I missed his name, but I will figure it out later]. Best I've ever heard.

It came a lot later than I would've hoped, but finally a little bit of justice is served against the Cardinals. I hope this one stung.

He could've gotten a splinter in his eye! I'm starting a petition so that all baseball players now have to wear safety glasses!

Code:
-----------------------------------------------------
| Series  |   Most Likely   ||        Actual        |
|         | Outcome |       || Outcome |       | Rk |
-----------------------------------------------------
| STLvSFG |  SFG 6  | 18.19 ||  SFG 7  | 16.60 |  2 |
| DETvNYY |  NYY 6  | 19.41 ||  DET 4  |  3.49 |  8 |
-----------------------------------------------------

Rk represents the Rank of likelihood of the actual outcome coming into the series (out of 8).

After going 0-4 in the LDSs, I was a robust 2-0 in the LCSs. BRAPB didn't do so well, picking the Giants-Cards almost perfectly, but epic failing in the Tigers-Yanks series.

Code:
-----------------------------------
|  Team  | BRAPB |  RRWP  |  SOS  |
-----------------------------------
| Tigers | 132.6 | 0.5709 | 106.1 |
| Giants | 124.6 | 0.5554 |  90.1 |
-----------------------------------

Code:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
|  Series |       | Each |            Wins in            || Wins  |
|         | BRAPB | Game |   4   |   5   |   6   |   7   ||  WS   |
-------------------------------------------------------------------
| Tigers  | 132.6 | 51.6 |  7.07 | 13.69 | 16.58 | 16.06 || 53.4% |
| Giants  | 124.6 | 48.4 |  5.51 | 11.36 | 14.64 | 15.09 || 46.6% |
-------------------------------------------------------------------

The Tigers are 52:48 favorites in each game, making them a 53:47 favorite to take the funny-looking penant trophy home.

Generic disclaimers about BRAPB being retrodictive, not taking into account home-field advantage, pitching matchups, injuries (past or present), or "momentum", and it being based on the assumption that if Team A beats Team B twice for every loss and Team B also has a 2:1 winning ratio over Team C, then Team A should have a 4:1 winning ratio over Team C apply.

Ozzie Guillen has been fired, to the surprise of precisely no one.

Brian McKnight. It was very nice. Much better than the lady from Beach Blanket whatever that forgot the words - and maybe, MAYBE, better than Tony Bennett.

Go Tigers! I am excited to see the Big Fella play in the World Series.

In related Big Fella news, I saw that CC Sabathia was going to pay a visit to Dr. Andrews about elbow soreness. Haven't seen anything since then, though.

Speaking of Dr. Andrews, Randy Wolf needs TJ and is out for 2013. Which maybe explains why he sucked so much in 2012.
