I bet you a cold beer that Holliday gets one in the back the next time he comes up. Hard-nosed baseball, yes, but so is a fastball high in the numbers, too.

I love stats, analysis, etc., so this isn't a knock; but still: How crazy is it that a guy with two hundred sixty-two hits in a season can look bad on paper! :o

DET-NYY postponed until tomorrow, STL-SF just getting back going after a 3.5 hour rain delay.

STL wins 3-1 to go up 2-1 in games but Beltran hurting (knee) and Motte having to pitch 2 full innings for the save could play a role on Thursday's game. Lincecum to get the start for SF. This series has all the signs of going 7.

Really starting to look like there will be a fourth STL/Detroit Series. I was fortunate to see both 1968 and if we get one like that it would be just awesome. 7 games with names like Gibson and Lolich-just great!
