MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Turns out A-Rod's best-ever postseason at-bat was when someone else batted for him.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Valverde threw a ball at the Gatorade cooler in anger after the game. The cooler drove it off the wall for a 2 run double...

holy cow. kind of glad I didn't stay up for the Oakland game.. not sure if I would've slept after that. today looks to be even more exciting.

and dear Nationals: you suck at life if you don't win today. just saying.

I really just want the Cardinals to go away...is that too much to ask?

in my experience - yes. it is.

Jen-You got it right. Since 1960 which is about as far back as I can remember easily, STL has made it to the World Series 9 times and won 5 times. Probably the most in the NL-followed by the LA Dodgers who have made it there 8 times and won 4. Obviously the Yankees who are 9-6 in World Series during that time are far and away the AL leaders. In the past 51 years these teams just do not go away. Doubtful that the Cardinals can pull off what they did last year-which for me was perhaps the most improbable and incredible run to the cahmpionship ever-but i would never bet against it. I am not a fan of any particular team-I just like to watch exciting baseball and as an old timer prefer the traditional game (I absolutely prefer that the pitcher bat for himself). I just hope that the umpires do not become the story by making some stupid call (infield fly rule anyone?).

It is now guaranteed that there are no sweeps and also two guaranteed Game 5s.

The As have re-passed the Os for second-best BRAPB and are 11% point favorites over the Tigers at home today at 9:30.

The Cards are more than 2-to-1 favorites to take at least one of the next two from the Nats.

The Yankees are strong favorites to advance while the Reds and Giants are essentially in a dead heat.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Dusty Baker doesn't have a contract for next year. Reds had a great year, but this isn't gonna go over well.

They still have a couple innings left. But if they can keep their pitching staff together and their relievers they should be tough again next year.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Unusual NL stat for SF: 5 pitchers used, no pinch hitters, and they're winning.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Well Jen-it certainly makes it more interesting. Now i have something to do tomorrow and have something to watch. Nothing is coming real easy in this post season for anyone.
