The most likely LCS match-ups will be Reds-Nats and Tigers-Yankees.

However, the most likely LDS results will be the Reds sweeping, the As winning in 5, and the Nats and Yankees each advancing in 4 games.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Not sure I like this 2-3 first round playoff system. They might need to tweak that.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

It's just a 1-year thing, from what MLB radio has said repeatedly.

I believe they did it because they had the World Series scheduled before they added the extra Wild Card, and then they couldn't change it to add the extra travel day. It's going back to the old pattern next year. Makes no sense to have 2-3.

Ahhh now that makes some sense. I had heard it was a one year thing for sure, but wasn't sure if they had decided or not to try it next year.

I hope the O's have some fight left...really want them to make a run. Still makes me chuckle to see them playing Lew Ford.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Wait... Lew Ford is on the Orioles?

THE Lew Ford?

Nothing substantial changes for the Reds or Tigers, they're both expected to sweep.

The Os are nearly back to 50:50 with the Yankees, but the Pinstripe Bullies are odds-on favorites to win the next two.

The Cards have improved their odds for each game by 0.7%, but are also still expected to be ousted after Game 4.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

I don't like these series' starting at the ballpark of the team with the inferior record.

It throws me off. You always assume the team with the first two home games is the team with a better record.
Wait... Lew Ford is on the Orioles?

THE Lew Ford?
Yes sir. I always will remember the time I watched the MLB opener in Japan. A's versus some Japanese team. I was shocked to see Lew Ford on that Japanese team.

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

I'm not feeling well. I think I may need to leave work at about 12:05 central time, and sit on my couch and watch baseball until 11 pm. :p

Exciting games yesterday. Never would've predicted the way Cin-SF has gone.

I am not a big baseball fan-hardly watch any during the season-but the playoffs are a different world. Love this stuff-as long as I can keep the volume turned off so I don't have to listen to the announcers tell me what i have to know.:D

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

I really just want the Cardinals to go away...is that too much to ask?

Re: MLB 2012, Part 1 - It's here

Watching today it does not seem likely that they are going away easily. They had a horrible year of injuries-they lost much of their starting pitching staff and had a horrible bullpen with so many blown saves that I lost count. This series is by no means over and Washington has a lot of weapons also or else they would never have had the record they did. Wasn't it Yogi who is credited with saying it ain't over 'til it's over? This year the 8 teams left really define parity-I would not bet on or against any of them. i just would hope the umpires get the calls right and there isn't any controversy (but that is asking a lot).
