Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

I would have found it acceptable if he had prefaced it with, "In the immortal words of my father..."

Otherwise, fist yourself Joe Buck.

Or even just "To quote my father," IMO. Immortal is a little over the top. ;)

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

Really? I consider that call, "Holy Cow", and "I don't believe what I just saw" to be three immortal calls.

The Twins fan in me says yes, but neutral me says no. HOF easily, but not immortal.

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

I think everyone glosses over the Vin Scully call of the Gibson HR. "In a year that has been so improbable... the impossible has happened."

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

?

The '91 Series is consistently rated the #1 overall by numerous sources. Including ESPN just a couple years ago.

The series. Mr Morris also may have had something to do with that. ;)

It's top 10, easily. But immortal is such a strong word.

And the Gibson call, that's a top one.

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

Ok, point taken. I still think "tomorrow night" is one of the immortal calls. IMHO. :D

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

This just in. McCarver is why they invented the mute button.

Re: MLB 2011 Post-Season: Who misses the NBA?

Playing to prevent doubles with two outs and the tying run on first is ABSOLUTELY the right defense. All Cruz has to do is either catch the ball or get enough of the ball so the runner from first couldn't score. What he did out there simply means Texas has their own Buckner fan club to begin.

I was talking about the next inning...

Great. I'm going to love hearing about how scrappy the Cards are and how much of genius LaRussa is. (/sarcasm)

The Cardinals finished the regular season 90-72.
The Red Sox finished the regular season 90-72.

Slightly different Octobers.
