Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

If you have an Android phone, MLB At Bat 11 App is free today on Amazon.com.

Would be good for the last week of the season and playoffs, including all radio feeds and video highlights. Also if you have MLB.TV you can watch on your phone.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Per ESPN, Ozzie Guillen is in talks to leave the White Sox.

Yeah, I know. Big shocker.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Over/under on Ozzie getting ****-canned in Miami next season: 90 games.

I think Jack McKeon is the only person that gets along with anybody down there. And just you wait until Ozzie gets a belly-full of Hanley's shenanigans.

Tony Montana would be a better suited owner than the clowns that run the Marlins.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

If I were a Rangers/Tigers fan, I'd be rooting pretty hard for the Red Sox. They aren't as good as Tampa.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

I'm torn. I'd love to see Tampa lose because I'm hoping they get moved to a city that deserves a franchise as awesome as the Rays. However, because I don't hate baseball, I have to root for Tampa and against the Red Sox.

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

The NL and AL Wild Cards are both tied, and 2/3 seeding in the NL could come down to the last day (Arizona holds the tiebreaker if they catch Milwaukee).

x-Milwaukee 95 66 .590
x-Arizona 93 67 .581

The Diamondbacks are tied 1-1 in the 8th vs the Dodgers.

I have to admit, it'd be pretty funny if the Yankees send out the Trenton Thunder tomorrow to tank the game to Tampa and then the Rays come back to beat the Yanks to go to the World Series.

If I was Girardi, I'd send out the GCL Yankees and giggle like a school girl the whole time while rolling around in the dugout. Then I'd sit back and pop some popcorn for the epic whinefest that would ensue. It would probably be the most entertaining week in sports history.

I believe he said after tonights game that anybody that would be starting Friday night will NOT be playing tomorrow night. Thus, it will be the Tampa Bay Rays vs the Staten Island Trenton Thunder Yankees.

Hey Boston, don't choke it all away ;)

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Last day of the regular season (barring game 163s) should definitely be interesting.

Pitching matchups for games that mean something:

Mke vs Pit: Greinke vs Locke
LA vs. AZ: Lilly vs. Saunders

Phi vs Atl: Blanton vs. Hudson
STL vs. Hou: Carpenter vs. Myers

NYY vs. TB: Joe Schmoe vs. Price
Bos vs. Bal: Lester vs. Simon

Cle vs. Det: McAllister vs. Porcello
Tex vs LA: Harrison vs. Richards

I was hoping some of these would be day games, but alas - all night games.

Oh this is brilliant on so many levels.

The Yankees should want the Red Sox in instead of the Rays because they actually have pitching. You won't hear much whining when the Sox choke it away. A growing minority of fans want them to miss the playoffs so the Pink Hats find something else to do and they can have their baseball team back.

No, I know. There won't be mass whining if they choke, however, I'm talking about the whining when they send out the GCL Yankees and tank the **** game. It's going to be brilliant. :D

Re: MLB 2011 Part 1

Think the Dodgers could win both the NL MVP and Cy Young awards? Not bad for a barely-.500 team with horrible ownership issues. How much weight do you give to contenders vs. non-contenders in the voting process?
