I used to work as a local newspaper sports reporter and my summer beat was a college baseball summer league team.

Some of the stuff those guys would come up with for rain delay entertainment was unbelievable. Definitely quite the imagination and just kids having a good time without a paycheck hanging over their heads.

Attendance at the start of the game was 12,000. Whoever stayed to the end should be given lifetime Royals season tickets.

have any of those baseball blogs ever done a ratings analysis of the difference baseball games on espn? i'd be curious to see if there is any evidence to suggest that yankees, phillies, red sox games are the highest rated.

a lot of people complain about the lack of exposure for other teams, but in the end its a business and if the ratings dont support something - it isnt aired (ie college hockey!)

ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball Presented by Taco Bell telecast showcasing the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees on April 10 delivered a 3.4 rating and 4,697,000 viewers to become the network's highest-rated and most-viewed MLB game since August 9, 2009 (Yankees/Red Sox - 3.5 rating; 4,698,000 viewers).

Whats with all these funky two game series? I don't like them and I am sure the players don't like it. I am guessing it has something to do with the new scheduling?

Well, I've booked my flight. I'm going to get the chance to cross Fenway Park off my list and see my Brewers play there in June!

So when will MLB get serious in their investigation of Bartolo Colon and this mysterious surgery he had in the Dominican? It's absurd that he's all of a sudden throwing 94+

It's apparently called Squeeze Week.

The lucky Brewers get to have their 2 two-game series on the West Coast with all night games (no getaway day), and then a home game on Friday.

Really? I hadn't heard that.


Matt Vasgersian is quickly becoming one of my favorite baseball announcers. Love it.

I miss Jon Miller on Sunday Night Baseball. Schulman doesn't do a whole lot for me.

I made fun of Miller when he did it. But that he is gone I miss him.

I would be okay if we stopped interleague play after this year. Bring back the mystice of the World Series and the All Star Game
