Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

4-0 Giants win, they now lead the Series 3-1. The Rangers now must beat Lincecum and Cain back-to-back, and then deal with Game 7 in San Fran.

It's pretty remarkable what this Giants staff is doing to a very good Texas lineup. I knew the NL pitching would beat the AL hitting in the World Series regardless of who was in it for both leagues, but I'm not really sure I could have seen this kind of dominance.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Chuck Greenburg's comments about the Yankees fans are great. Has he neglected how nasty the Rangers fans were towards ARod for leaving despite him playing the best baseball of his career for them?

Yeah, Texas fans may have been very gracious during game 3, but they're bandwagon fans anyways. How much was that stadium being filled up in the past 5 years? Not much. The teams with die-hard fans also have the more "fervent" fans. Example: Oakland Raiders, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Flyers, any European Soccer team.

Someone doesn't remember the 80s and the 90s until 1998 when it comes to bandwagoning/poor team results. Did you know that after 1988 the Yankees weren't even in the top 3 for attendance until 1998? Despite the dominance, the high payroll, the super-stars, the dynasty, the largest city in America and close to the largest stadium in baseball (if not the largest) the Yankees didn't become number 1 for attendance until 2003.

You don't think a large portion of the Yankees fanbase are front runners? Of course they are, that's how most fanbases are gained. :)

Here we go...

You might want to swing at that...

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Puzzled why Lincecum was taken out. He was pitching like his bong was all ready to go in the dugout.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Nice to see the Giants get their just reward for dispatching the Braves and Phils. :D
