MLB 2010: The Second Half

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

This one actually was until the wheels fell off in the bottom of the 8th inning. You can't justify the complaining about ball 4 with the bases loaded when this guy had missed on 11 of the past 12.

It was belt high down the middle. If anything, that should have counted as strikes 2 and 3 because any hitter worth a **** should be teeing off on a pitch like that.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Looked to me like it was above his belly. Either way, he wasn't getting that call because he wasn't throwing anything else for strikes.

And apparently the entire bullpen forgot where the strike zone is. Dontrelle Willis thinks this is getting absurd.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Wow, just goes to show you that you never know what can happen with two out and nobody on.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Why would you swing on that ball four? Make him throw a strike or just keeping walking in.

edit: That was supposed to be to Bakunin's post, I just don't know how to operate the board I guess.

I wonder if Ken Rosenthal saw this video when he made his fashion choice for the night.

The Rangers are embarrassing. How the heck can you let Huff and Renteria be beating you like this?

Because even against a pitcher with control problems, a belt high fastball right down the middle is basically begging you to knock it out of the park.

Dude, if Cody Ross can be NLCS MVP, anything can happen. I was ****ed at the way the Phillies lost to the Giants, but all of a sudden now it just looks like San Francisco's offense, which is chock full of mediocre has-beens (plus Buster Posey), is too hot to be stopped. Stranger things have happened, but I feel like they're going to win 2 of the next 5 games.

Well the Phillies really beat themselves with their maddening inability to hit with RISP. The Giants scored 19 runs in six games against the Phils. They've scored 20 in the first 2 games of this series. The NLCS was all about the Phils terrible offense. So far in the first two games of this series, the Giants are just clearly a better all around team. It becomes a different series with the DH though.

But if a guy had thrown 11 straight balls, you're not lifting that bat off your shoulder until the umpire calls at least one strike.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

I didn't realize that the elder Bush was looking that frail. It shouldn't surprise me, as he is 86.
