Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

apparently MLB Network will have SD-SF on live tomorrow. not sure if Atl-Phi will be on.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Fox continues to ruin baseball. I am blacked out from watching a game with actual importance (SF/SD) so I can watch what they deem is important to my area (in this case NYY/BOS).

Even their 3rd choice game (ATL/PHI) has more playoff implications than what we are getting. This isn't NY or BOS hate, they just happen to be the game being shown.
The NYY/BOS game has some implications, as the Yankees are still playing for homefield, but yeah, less than the other games. This is when I agree that other games should be shown (plus, it might have allowed the Sox to push back the start of the second game, and play the make-up game earlier in the day, and I could have gone).

I thought your point was about local teams like Hawk Harrelson. Not about the national teams.
No, my point was that most local teams are better than the national teams, so I don't get why people complain that the Yanks/Sox get so many national games, instead of being happy that they don't have to listen to either Morgan/Miller or McCarver/Buck.

This is why I have the MLB.com TV package. The media player allows me to watch both games at once. Well I also have the MLB.com TV package because I live in Canada and wouldn't be able to watch squat, baseball related, without it, unless I was a Blue Jays fan   .

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

The games are actually split up today so I don't have to try to watch 2 at once.

1:35 ET ATL/PHI
4:05 ET SD/SF

I am rooting for ATL and SD to win the playoff spots.

This. For some reason I don't like the Giants.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Its Hamels vs Hudson in the ATL/PHI game, but Hamels is just in a tune-up game. He is not expected to pitch normal innings today.

I wonder how many other starters will leave the game early for the Phillies.

Hudson looked great in the 1st.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

My aunt who has Giants season tickets with a few friends is coming up this week. I hope they win or else she will be REAALLLLYY crabby.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

What kinda stinks is that the Padres will win the tiebreaker against both teams in head to head, but not win the division. And if the Braves somehow had a one game lead over both Padres and Giants and the Padres won tomorrow...the Padres would have won the division.

How strange.

I thought the only way the tiebreaker comes into play is if both the Giants and Padres are in, and it is used to decide the division winner as opposed to the wildcard, since a playoff game in that case would either mess up the pitching rotations for the playoffs or result in teams tanking on purpose.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Oswalt only went 1 inning in relief.

edit: Atl blowing it open in bot 4. Currently 5-2 Braves.

If Padres/Giants tie, a 1 game playoff in SD on Monday. If there is also a tie for the WC, then the loser of that game flys to Atlanta for a game on Tuesday.

Good times!

Phils not letting the Braves off easy. With 2 out in the eighth th Phils have a run in and runners at 1st and second with 2 outs.

8-5 Braves.

Edit: Make that 8-7. Francisco just drove in two with a double.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Wagner strikes out the side and the Braves guarantee themselves a one game playoff.

LET'S GO PADRES!! LET'S GO PADRES!! LET'S GO PADRES!!!

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

The Red Sox hang on to beat the Yankees, which if I'm not mistaken gives the division title to T-Bay regardless of the outcome of their game against KC. T-Bay has tied it at 2 in the ninth.

AL playoffs

Minnesota v. NYY
Tampa Bay v Texas.

Re: MLB 2010: The Second Half

Go Giants! Get into the World Series against the Yankees so I can see them play out here! Plus Buster Posey is awesome.

Stand up triple!
