Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

Interesting issue with the Phillies getting 84 home games this year due to the Blue Jays series being moved to Philadelphia.

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

Less interesting, more ridiculous.

I'd really hope they figure out some other venue to play in.

I have the perfect solution. Took me literally 10 seconds to work out.

Jun 25-27:
Phillies vs Blue Jays @ Progressive Field
Indians @ Cincinnati

Jun 28-30
Blue Jays @ Cleveland
Philadephia @ Cincinnati

Technically, the jays will bat second and the DH will be used. Just a different venue.

Wow he is that good. I was wondering if he would be like many other number one pitching prospects.

But the jury is out until he faces major league hitters every week.

Yeah, I've been saying this all along and I'm sticking to it. I wouldn't bet against him though.

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

They need to put that at a neutral site. Although I wonder if the Jays will get the receipts from that game?

Yeah, the venue just so happens to be the Phillies home field.

But the Jays get to bat second!

Do the Phillies have to use the opposing dugout and locker room? Do they get to control the scoreboard?

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

Phillies will win the East even without these extra games. So that makes me care less. But I just don't get how they didn't get a neutral site. My guess is they wanted to make money.

Re: MLB 2010: Hope Springs Eternal

What's your deal?

My deal is 1) the games didn't need to be moved MLB over-reacted. 2) There are neutral sites that this could happened at 3) Baseball made the schedules unfair when they went to interleague play, they don't need to make it more unfair.

God forbid a team that has no shot at making the playoffs this year has to play a few more away games against a team that has not shot at missing the playoffs.

The Phillies aren't playing well, they've had injuries. The Mets/Braves/Marlins could all challenge them and end up within that margin.

God Forbid this ends up meaning something.

Even with significantly flawed teams the Mets ended up very close two years in a row in 07 and 08. You honestly don't see any chance this series could matter?

Plus pretend the NL East is tight but no team wins 90 games, I bet those games might effect the wild card too.

But pardon me for looking at history and thinking hey, 3 games might matter!

Who cares about the Blue Jays besides the fact they're going to make a lot less money. :D

This is about the Phillies opponents and the integrity of the schedule.

geez. neutral site would be dumb. (unless you go to someplace that doesn't have a mlb team)
