Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

It was a beautiful day to take in an outdoor baseball game here. 82, sunny, not very humid

Hey. In case I failed to mention this - go F yourself! :p

BTW, two of my colleagues were in Atlanta for a conference and also enjoyed the break from heat and humidity in July.

Well, it could experience some serious atmospheric resistance
No MCS formed, but another supercell did in SE north dakota - and managed to move east to just south of Fergus Falls before turning SE. It dissipated a couple counties west of the twin cities early this morning (some debris / light rain managed to hit the metro).

The lesson here is that in spite of so many things being against storm formation (strong cap in place, no strong lift mechanisms / convergence boundaries, minimal upper jet support), we can still see a few pop up and go severe simply due to all the juice in the atmosphere. What's triggering the storms is nothing more than a very weak semi-stationary front. We won't see a real front of any kind until the end of the week (if there is any upper air support with that, expect a severe weather outbreak).

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I just came in from a morning run. Either I need to lose more weight, or it needs to cool down a lot. :p

Well, since I'm not in the needing to lose category so much, I'll settle for the whole "it needs to cool down" thing. Or, at the very least, can the dewpoint not be in the 70's? I'm good with the heat, but I'd rather drink water instead of trying to breathe it.

So, if the lab thing doesn't keep working for you, I guess you can always pursue a career in meteorology. ;)

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I mentioned in the lodge that if anyone in Duluth is too hot, there is a pretty cold option nearby. :) Seeming one can't post pictures in the polls, here is the evidence:

I was going to wait until noon, but I lack patience.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

The humidity returned to northern Georgia today. RH was 93% at 7 this morning. Luckily it stayed in the 70's until about noon, so it was actually quite comfortable. This afternoon was a little hot and sticky, but the local distributor had one of those tent things without sides, to block the sun, and some fans.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I was outside for about 20 minutes just a half-hour ago, and I am drenched. All I did was replace the power window switch in my car, nothing strenuous at all, and I now need a shower.

Try 5 hours carrying two golf bags. Luckily I had plenty of water and food to survive.

Still pretty thick here, but it has cooled off a bit here. It was up to about 96 in Tecumseh, and then it cooled off to 81 when it started to rain.
