Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

You were wrong. There were 3 inches of ice on highway 65 this morning. With snow on top of that.
Clearly, that highway is a lower priority than the ones in the metro proper. :p

(Also, the north side took the brunt of this storm unlike many of the others that hit this winter).

Huh?! We got hammerpunched by storms this winter. Our southfacing house still had three and a half feet of snow (BEFORE this latest storm) on the edges of the driveway.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

That is a rather amazing comparison.
Sorry, Biddco--Dry Canadian air kept the worst of the snow south of here. Nothing but a dusting here on Observation Hill.

Sigh. I know :(

I wish I taught in Cloquet. They cancelled school at this time last night :D

I'm not saying you didn't get hit by storms; I am saying the southern portion of the metro got dumped on more than the north from the majority of the storms this winter.

I live in Blaine and work in Cottage Grove. I dealt with both sides of the metro and I can attest that the north side got just as much as the south.

494 and 394 were basically skating rinks with snow on them....at 9am. So, the chemicals weren't working then.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

It was almost like the plows hadn't really been out yet up here. The chemicals were probably washed away with the rain earlier in the day. At noon the main roads were much more drivable.

For this last storm that's likely the truth. I live in Farmington and play a league in Blaine. Farmington got a lot more snow than Blaine did this year. In fact, you could probably find the official totals somewhere as Farmington has a FAA radar site and Blaine has a regional airport.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Given what the roads and sidewalks look like this morning, I'd guess that everyone has said "**** it, it's late march, this **** will melt soon enough". Sloppy clean up job, just like my driveway.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Possibility of a major snow storm later this week. Hopefully, the forecasting models are wrong, but if not, we could be looking at up to 10" of snow in the southern third of the state Friday-Saturday.

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

So, yesterday we hit 63 in Duluth. Today, it's supposed to hit 61. This weekend, when I have to work outside for a tent sale? 44 and rain. *k you, Duluth weather.

Just wait until it is a comfortable 75 degrees outside of the lake and 60 degrees in Duluth :D

Re: Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Looks like the F4 was on the right weekend. We're allegedly going to get some snow this weekend; a couple inches. That's after the rain turns into the snow.

I'm supposed to have a golf invite on Saturday morning....you know, in the snow and 35 degrees?
