The good news is that Emma May looks like she really wants to keep the starting job.

"Buckeyes are not a very good team."

I guess neither are the Gophers since they lost in a shootout today to those same Buckeyes. You jinxed the U with your post buddy boy. Karma most certainly is a beeyotch!

Great so now we have Dani Cameranesi ready to come in on a bionic leg just in time for the FF to dash our dreams again that's cool

You should worry a lot more about the healthy Badgers than then the tuckered out Gophers this year.

Interesting that the quote is the very first and only post from 'dd17', I have not heard a single Gopher fan say anything close to that this year. OSU has really turned a corner and is only overshadowed by the improved Bulldogs. If the Buckeyes find some scoring it will be a 4 way race in the WCHA.

Or more realistically a three-way race for second.

I didn't see Schipper go down. And clues to how serious her injury might be?

I don't think anyone is claiming that the Gophers are an especially good team with four of our top ten forwards out of the lineup.

It was the big collision at the 10:05 mark of the first period; Lauren Spring got two minutes for checking. Someone watching said that the actions of the trainer suggested that it's a concussion. If correct, no one has any idea how long she'll be out.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey 2016-2017 (aka Season 20)

Hopefully this a mid season valley and they starting peaking heading to the playoffs.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey 2016-2017 (aka Season 20)

Next woman up...

I thought Keller played well, and so did Skarzynski,
but then so did Reilly as she has all year, but no goal for any of them :(

weren't #3 & 4 on the bench this weekend? I thought they both played well last year
at some point you may as well see what someone else can do
at the rate things are going, they may have to

at least Goldy seems healthy

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey 2016-2017 (aka Season 20)

Raise your hand if you expected to see a second line of Williamson centering Keller and Haley in a league game. I thought they looked pretty good together, as long as you weren't expecting anyone to score.

The Goals for a Goal fundraiser may not be such a big money maker this year.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey 2016-2017 (aka Season 20)

Both teams seemed to have short bench challenges. Buckeyes played with four D and three forward lines on the weekend. Not sure if this is usual. On Saturday, I noticed that Boyle was not in the lineup and #2 took regular shifts. If you are a Buckeye fan, you have to hope that if Boyle is injured, it is nothing serious. She is very good.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey 2016-2017 (aka Season 20)

An oddity, one of the strengths of this team is depth at forward, although it appears we only have 3 1/2 forwards who can score.

I still have hope that some of these other players can start to put the puck in the net. But losing 4 forwards is too many. Despite that fact that losing Cameranesi is a disaster, we really need to get at least Piazza back. Hopefully Schipper's situation will be OK by next weekend as well.

Emma May played well esp on Saturday and gave the team a nice shot in the arm!

Buckeyes dressed 3 lines but only played 2 so they must have dressed injured players as a number never saw the ice. Injuries affected us on the scoring sheet but the Buckeyes have worse offensive woes as only a couple players have more than 10 career goals, thats career not season. Buckeyes 2nd leading goal scorer coming in is a freshman and I did not see her play the second game. But that Sauve is something special and no with disrespect to ARD, she is the best goalie in the WCHA. If Potter had her last year they would have doubled their win total as they were a much better team. Overall it was a good opportunity on the weekend for some of the Gophers to step up but it never happened. Very strong Gopher class next year will help with the depth.

Great crowds this weekend!
2374 on Friday
2793 on Saturday

Outside of last season's Wisconsin series and frozen four games, Saturday's 2793 was the best we've had since UND ended the streak Nov 17, 2013.

For the record the Buckeyes have 3 players with more than 10 career goals, bottom line is Ohio is not a very good team but with Sauve they are are capable of winning any game. I would not want to meet Ohio in the first round of the playoffs as Sauve is capable of stealing a series. It is too bad Ohio had players transfer as they would be better this year with those players and agree that last years team would have been much better if both Sauve and Dunne had been healthy and playing.

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey 2016-2017 (aka Season 20)

I quote from the following article on Cameranesi:

"She is currently ninth on the Gophers’ all-time scoring list with 169 points (75 goals, 94 assists)."

I suppose if you void this years numbers (which are 18 goals and 14 assists for 32 points) then the 169 points would be accurate. I think however, most folks would acknowledge this years numbers, for a more up to date total of 201 points (93 goals, 108 assists) ;)

Where are all the Arschlochs complaining about 'stashing' now?

Re: Minnesota Women's Hockey 2016-2017 (aka Season 20)

No Schipper and no Piazza in the lineup. Kelsey Cline is listed as a third line wing. This does not bode well.
