Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

The tale of the tape:

Rodents:
Goals scored per game: 2.00
Goals against per game: 2.50
Power Play: 3.4%
Penalty Kill: 78.8%

Badgers:
Goals scored per game: 3.5
Goals against per game: 1.50
Power Play: 17.1%
Penalty Kill: 93.8%

I just love how the rodents sweep a perpetual bottom feeder like UAA and all their problems are solved. Using simple math, your team still sucks. Do you want me to breakout the pre-UAA stats? :D

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

The highest ranked team in Ohio - Miami (not The Ohio State University from the Big 11)

The highest ranked team in Michigan - Michigan (from the Big 11)

The highest ranked team in Minnesota - Bemidji State followed by UMD (not Minnesota from the Big 11)

Let's jettison Wisconsin and Minnesota from the WCHA when UNO and Bemidji enter in 2010. That way, the Big 10 Conference can form the first Division I-A conference in college hockey and have their own championship.

[Don't anyone mention that the top 2 teams in the WCHA in terms of national championships won both come from D-II, not the D-I Big 10/11 large-ego Wisconsin or Minnesota campuses. ]

Now, back to the "... greatest rivalry in college hockey" love-thread. :D

Go clean your tractor seat, flickertail.

Who told you stats matter in a rivalry game?

I think you can also agree that MN played a tougher schedule to start, then UW did.

Not sure anyone is arguing our problems are solved. However, the Gophers swept a team they were supposed to beat and fairly handily. That is a lot better than the alternative.

Also, to the above poster, I'll take that as sarcasm.

No one said anything of the sort.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

It sounds like Craig Smith will be back in the lineup. It's too bad he didn't take his cheap shot against Minny instead of wasting it on Mankato. He could have at least ended Jordan Schroeder's career.

Glad to see some of the BADger posters are honest and showing their true character. That's what I've come to expect of your ilk.

Nice post.

What's troubling is that I'm sure you have a lot of agreement among Badger puck fans.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

Maybe past encounters with BADger fans? Maybe witnessing the classy welcome many Packer Backers gave to Brett the other day? Just guessing here.

1. I've met plenty of *******s wearing Maroon and Gold, too. Doesn't make painting with a broad brush acceptable.

2. Badger fans are not Packer fans.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

What makes you so sure?

I agree. I do not think there are many who would like to see someone get injured from a cheap hit, from any team.

I think the majority of true hockey fans (myself included) are happy to see strict punishment for those who go through with stupid, dangerous hits.

I'll back that up citing my past experiences with badger fans, both home and away. But I will make the caveot that fans at football games have been WAY worse then hockey, to me at least.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin.. the greatest rivalry in college hockey.

Other than the fact that you addressed my rejoiner rather than the post from your fan base?

So, my silence is assumed to be an endorsement?

Your post addressed the Badger fanbase, not just the poster in question. Hence, you brought me into it.
