Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/22 & 1/23

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/22 & 1/23

It is very gracious of your fair state to accept some of the finest and skilled Minnesotans to do what the fine citizens of Wisconsin are, sadly, incapable of doing.

We believe it's our regional duty to lend assistance to those in need. Especially these days, what with Scott Walker successfully turning Wisconsin into a northern version of Mississippi.

We understand that you can't thank us. We understand. Knowing that you'd like to, is thanks enough.

You really think we need help from a people who display this kind of sense?

tArrogance is strong in you, I'll give you that.

You mean those fans dressed as empty seats?!

I knew what you were doing, I was just trying to make a funny. Maybe a couple ;) ;) ;) would have helped..?

I probably should have added a :p to mine. I'm crabby today which is the only reason I chose to engage in this thread.

Both programs are having attendance issues (whatever the reasons) which is a shame as both used to be some of the best atmospheres in the game.

Maybe the one thing we can all agree upon is that both athletic departments should die in a fire.

Different reasons, but clearly the Badger hockey program is in serious trouble and the alarming downturn in attendance has been the most dramatic in the NCAA over the past 4 seasons.

Gurt - You're back from exile.

Your "artwork" in these threads in the past was legendary. This place could use a pick me up, kind of died over the years. (insert attendance joke)

 :D

Even when these teams are down the smack talk comes to life. Rightfully so.

Q: What's the difference between a porcupine and Madison?
A: All the pricks are on the outside of the porcupine.

I seem to recall the Gophers on the bad end of a pair of 1-2 losses in Madison 2 years ago? I'd like to say UM walks away with 6 easy points but tArrogance is not at 100%. No matter what happens I'll wake up a Gophers fan and that's always a good thing.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/22 & 1/23

Just got a text from somebody who I think should know that Lucia is only dressing 5 D vs. Wisconsin on Friday. Is this true?

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/22 & 1/23

That wouldn't make sense unless there are two injuries/sicknesses on D. The forward depth is bad beyond 12 is bad.

Re: Minnesota @ Wisconsin: 1/22 & 1/23

Sorry, was just tracking this down and my source definitely confirms that Lucia will only dress 5 D on Friday vs. Wisconsin.

Junior Defenseman and Assistant Captain Jake Bischoff has apparently shown he is now reasonably capable of dressing himself.

UW has 21 1/2 extra forwards on the roster, they could loan a few to you guys and it wouldn't hurt us a bit. They probably won't hurt your team either.

Were you a writer for Letterman or Leno in a past life? Who needs Rep?

Thursday afternoon.

Less than 80 posts.

Where, oh where, has this rivalry gone.

Oh where, oh where, can it be?

'Sconnie fans, your program needs to get healthy.

We understand you're helpless victims of this travesty that is the Badger Mens Hockey Program.

But now it's affecting Gopher fans.

I have fond memories of watching these two programs go at it, hammer and tong, at The Dane and old Mariucci.

In past decades it was the one game to attend. Failing that, it was appointment television.

This weekend?

I think I'll skate with my daughters on the backyard rink.

Which is never a bad choice.

It's just seems like the only entertaining one.

I thought 80 posts area pretty good rate. :(

No matter how awful the rodents are, it's still good to watch the UW/UM matchup. ;)

UW can actually score this year to help offset bad D zone play. Last year they could not score and had bad D zone coverage, that's a 50% improvement.

Hopefully Mr. Kunin puts some fish in the livewell in what may be his only 4 games against the rodents.
